"We're going to have lots and lots of Henchmen" (Shadowman 9: In the Cradle of Destiny Season 3)
From the first time "Shadow guy 6" looks upon Lady Au Pair to their love fest in the Monarch Mobile, the entire "how they met" story is touching and very funny. My favorite moments from their meeting are the Monarch donning his costume for love, when he invites her outside because of Truckulese's diesel fumes and of course, when the Monarch removes his helmet. "Eyebrows!"
"Pinky Swear!" (Showdown at Cremation Creek Part 1 Season 2)
After their season long break up, The Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend start meeting secretly in a seedy motel. The Monarch, dressed only in his crown, cowl, tiger striped underwear and yellow boots, proposes to her. She says yes and produces the "magic" ground rules list from under the only thing she's wearing-a blanket. When the Monarch agrees to stop arching Dr. Venture, they seal the deal with a pinky swear.
"Hi Pookums!" (Showdown at Cremation Creek-Part 2 Season 2)
Dr. Killinger returns to preside over the wedding ceremony. The Monarch has tears welling up in his eyes. Dr. Venture's so jealous he's reciting the song Jessie's Girl. Dr. Girlfriend is given away by David Bowie. It's the perfect mix of laugh out loud funny and "awww." I don't even know if the interrupted ceremony counts as them getting married, but it counts to me.
"Can You Read My Mind?" (Hate Floats Season 2)
"Accidentally" bumping in Dr. Girlfriend at the mall, the Monarch unsuccessfully tries to win her back. After she tries to walk away, he hit her with a tranquilizer dart. He flies through the mall, carrying her. With a look of utter devotion, he recites in his head part of a song from the Superman movie. It makes for a touching scene until he gets distracted by his Henchmen fighting the Ventures and drops her unconscious body. When I first saw this moment, I knew the Monarch really loved her.
"Can I Come in if I Buy a Ticket?" (Return to Malice Season 4)
From under the sheets, there is talk of little piggies. Hilarious choice for pillow talk, but the scene really shines with the way Dr. Mrs. the Monarch handles her husband's disfiguring facial rash. He runs into the bathroom and calls himself a freak. Asking to come in, she promises not to bang on his cage. When he won't let her, she suggests they can change their theme from butterflies to "Globface." It's the little back and forth banter that makes them a cute, believable couple.
"Listen to Your Leader." (Pinstripes and Poltergeists Season 4)
When the creepy moppets try to get 21 in trouble, the Monarch and Dr. Mrs. the Monarch aren't impressed. He tells them to clean the toilets and she backs him up. She's finally getting annoyed at the moppets. This makes the Monarch extremely happy. Hell, I jumped up and down when I first saw this moment. Will the next eight episodes of Season 4 have more of the Monarchs yelling at the moppets together? I hope so!
Honorable Mentions:
"For he's a sexy good fellow..." The Monarch's birthday present (Are you there God, it's Me, Dean Season 1)
"She is heat incarnate!" The Monarch describing Dr. Girlfriend during their break up. (Victor. Echo. November. Season 2)
"Do it yourself, Mr. Big Pants." Dr. Girlfriend responding to the Monarch's order for an outside phone line. (Home Insecurity Season 1)
