Tom Hanks and Tim Allen bestowed the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical to The Kids Are All Right on Sunday night at the 2011 awards.

The award was accepted by the producer, who had a very long speech prepared and quickly rattled the names on the list, including the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, fellow producers, and all who worked on the film.

He singled out writer/director Lisa Cholodenko and thanked Focus Features for taking a chance on distributing it. He ended by thanking his family back in New York, and he said the award was for them.

Members of the cast were also on hand for the acceptance, including Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, and Annette Bening, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.

The Kids Are All Right is a story about a lesbian couple whose teenage children find their biological father, the sperm donor, and want to bring him into their lives. The movie was not even listed as a nominee at the Critics Choice Awards for the Best Comedy category, though it was in the running for Best Picture.

Other nominees for the Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical Golden Globe this year were Alice in Wonderland, Burlesque, Red , and The Tourist.

Aw, I didn't know that! I hate when they remake movies, but I really wanted to see this one, because I love Mark Ruffalo.

I don't think people realize that this is a remake too.
