1. Blue Mountain- This is one of Best places to snowboard at in PA. Their terrain park is absolutely amazing and the best in PA in my opinion. They have giant jumps and some of the best rails around for snowboarders. If you are not into the whole terrain park thing It has ok trails for riding down but it can get crowded. I also recommend going to Blue Mountain when it is coldest and after it snows. It tends to get icy and it can really hurt if fall wrong when there is no powder on the ground.
2. Big Boulder / Jack Frost Mountain- If you are going to this mountain for snowboarding I strongly recommend going to the big Boulder side. This has a great terrain park. has lots of crazy rails and some monstrous jumps that you can do. This is a mountain where there are lots of side trails in the woods that you and your friends can ride on and have some fun. A lot of the side trails come back into the main trail with a jump and its fun watching people fall coming back into the trail. The snow is ok up there and could be better. I recommend the same thing with Blue Mountain, go when it's cold and after a snow storm.
3. Shawnee Mountain- This is actually the first mountain I went to and snowboarded at. This has a great bunny slop of the beginners and beginner classes that get you on the real slop by then end of the day. This is not a small mountain and you can have a nice relaxing ride down a great mountain. The terrain park is nice but not the greatest. It is best for beginners to intermediate riders. The snow conditions are a little better then blue but not as good as Elk Mountain. The advantage this mountain has is that it has very nice lodging available to the public so you can make it a weekend trip. It's nice waking up in the morning and driving 1 minute to the mountain and riding all day.
4. Elk Mountain- This is one of the largest mountains in PA. It is great for snowboarders that want a nice long ride down a mountain. This mountain Is not known for its terrain park and if you live far away and are expecting a great terrain park go to Blue Mountain. The snow is great at this mountain and is great to ride on. Lifts could be updated but it's not terrible.
