The Most Talked About Movie Sequels that Could Be Better Then the Originals

Movie sequels are becoming more and more frequent in the last few years. In 2010, the theaters will be screening sequels all year long. Here the 5 best sequels coming to the box office this year.

5. Iron Man 2 - I have every intention to watch this movie when it comes to theaters on May 7th, but I'm not real sure what to expect. Actually, I'm still not even positive of what I thought about the first Iron Man. Parts of it were really good, and a few parts dragged for me. Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man on May 7th, but unfortunately, Terrence Howard is not back for this sequel. However, all of these greats will be making appearances: Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, Don Cheadle, Samuel L. Jackson, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

4. Shrek Forever (Shrek 4) - Otherwise known as Shrek 4, this new edition to the super hit Shrek franchise comes to theaters on July 26th. Shrek meet Rumpelstiltskin. Shrek has dealt with dragons, in-laws and a not-so-nice fairy godmother, but will any of that prepare him for this grumpy little guy? I'm hoping that this movie has a little bit more of the humor that made me love the first two so much than what the third one had. Shrek 3 was still good, but not as good as its' predecessors. Maybe we can see the return of the super huge gingerbread man. Now that would be cool!

3. Twilight Saga: Eclipse - Can 8 billion young women be wrong? On June 10th, the battle in Bella's heart continues, as the rift between vampires and werewolves grows. She will have to choose between her love for Edmund and her friendship with Jacob. This series is such a big hit with young females, that I wouldn't be surprised if high schools have girl fights at lunch that started over weather Jacob or Edward is better looking. As a straight guy, I'm not going to put a lot of insight into that argument, but even I know Taylor Lautner looks better without the long hair.

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I - Harry Potter fans get an early Christmas present in 2010 as the seventh Harry Potter movie comes to theaters on November 19th. Fans have mixed feelings on the seventh J.K. Rowling book being split into two movies, but it's Harry Potter people. Is there such a thing as too many Harry Potter movies? I'll let you in on a little secret; I can't get enough of the movies. Okay, so I don't keep secrets too well. This movie has Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson fighting Valdemort in their darkest adventure yet, as Valdemort is now stronger than ever.

1. Toy Story 3 - Usually I would say that creating another sequel to a movie after a wait of 11 years is an idiotic idea. However, this is Pixar's Toy Story we're talking about here. Make sure you bust out the first two Toy Story movies before June 18th, which is the release date for the new one. I'm not sure if there is any one movie that can match the creativity Pixar put into Toy Story. I'm sure when I watch Toy Story 2 again that I will be even more psyched about this third installment coming out. That's a lot to say considering I'm getting all excited writing about it right now as it is. I can't wait to see more of my two favorite characters, Rex and Mr. Potato Head!
