This is part 2 of my August basketball card investment guide, for part 1 on the best forwards to invest in please refer to my articles list. For many NBA basketball sports card collectors, the Summer off season represents a good opportunity for bargains and prospecting. The NBA playoffs are a distant memory to many and many are too concentrated on the incoming draft class to remember 2nd and 3rd year veterans that are ready to break out. This guide will highlight 5 guards that could become great investments for the wise collectors! Don't miss out!

Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat G) - Flash is back and better than ever!! After being plagued with injuries after his championship season and a disappointing 07-08 run with the Miami Heat, Wade has been tearing up the courts in Beijing with no regards for human life. He looks healthy, fast, and happy; all of this bodes well for the the young Miami Heat. Wade's cards have dropped in prices dramatically this past season. The time to invest is now before the season starts and before everyone remembers what he can do. Right now, autographs of Wade can be had for around 40-50$ which will definitely not last! I got my Wade auto already.

Maurice "Mo" Williams (Cleveland Cavs G) - Williams after a forgettable season with the Bucks is poised to make a big impact with the Cavs this year. Mo will be counted on to play Robin to LeBron's batman and will be asked to primarily handle the ball and function as a second scoring option. He's card values are at rock bottom prices right now and are a solid investment. The time to buy is now and the time to sell will be around playoff time when LeBron James attempt to go for Finals appearance. You can potentially double your money in about 8 months time. Holding onto Mo Williams' cards after the playoffs is not recommended.

Tony Allen (Boston Celtics G) - The Celtics are looking to repeat their championship this year. Now that James Posey has been traded away, the door is wide open for Allen to prove himself. Allen has talent but health is the main concern with him. He also did not play very well last year, but opportunities will be plentiful this year. Boston is a big basketball market, so if Allen breaks out, his card values will go up in line with Rajon Rondo's value increase for the 07-08 year. A good buy for Celtic fans and investors who are into big risk and big returns.

Rodney Stuckey (Detroit Piston G) - Stuckey's play was a pleasant surprise to many in Detroit last season. As a rookie, Stuckey showed great potential and versatility. Although, he will still be coming off the bench; he will still be a valuable sixth man and solid contributor to the team. Now, rumor has it that Joe Dumars is planning to shake up the roster due to last season's failure during the playoffs. If that happens and Billups is shipped out, then expect Stuckey to absorb the majority of the playing time and skyrocket in value. Currently, Stuckey's key rookies and autograph cards hover around $10 or less. Definitely a great buy!

Ramon Sessions (Milwaukee Bucks G) - Another rookie from the 07-08 year. This unknown actually averaged 11 points and 11 assists his last 10 games of the season. Now that Mo Williams is kicked out of Brew Town, the world is Sessions' oyster. He will only have to battle a slumping Ridnour for minutes. Try to pick up one of Sessions' Exquisite, SPX, or short printed rookies for less than $20 to capitalize on this opportunity. If he lives up to his potential, you will had made an incredible profit 2-3 years down the road.

Other great guards to invest in: Randy Foye, Devin Harris, Chris Duhon, Jose Calderon, Beno Udrih.

The guides for the best centers for basketball card collectors to invest in will be available soon. Until next time, collected well and prosper!
