Best NBA Players Whose Names Start with F

The letter F has a negative connotation in the sport of basketball. In fact, basketball players get punished for every F they commit. When they get five Fs in school and college contests, they are forced to leave the game. In the NBA, they get an extra one.

Of course the F being referred to stands for fouls. While these infractions make the letter F a bad stat in the game, some of the great players in the NBA have had names that started with F.

Here are the ten best, divided into two teams, based on stats provided by reference.nba.com.

First Team:

Center - Larry Foust: This big man averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game for three teams from 1953-'62.

Forward - Michael Finley: During a stretch of five years for the Mavs, Finley averaged over twenty points per game. His career numbers are 16 points and 5 rebounds per game while playing with both the Mavs and Spurs

Forward - Joe Fulks: Jumpin' Joe's stats, who avergaed 16 points per game, is enshrined into the Hall of Fame.

Guard - World B. Free: As a Clipper in '79-'80, Free averaged 30 points per game. His career averageis 20 points per game.

Guard - Walt Frazier: The lifelong Knick averaged 19 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds per game.

Second Team:

Center - Jim Fox: A top big man during the 60s and 70s, Fox averaged nearly double digits in scoring and rebounds.

Forward - Danny Fortson: The former player for the University of Cincinnati became a post player in the NBA. He averaged 7 rebounds and 8 points per game in his career, highlighted by 16 points and 16 rebounds for the Warriors in '00-01.

Forward - Bob Ferry: Splitting his time between the Pistons and the Bullets, Ferry averaged double figure scoring for five straight seasons ('60-'64) and finished with an average of 6 rebounds per game.

Guard - Steve Francis: He played with four different teams, averaging 18 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds per game.

Guard - Donnie Freeman: Freeman played for 7 different teams from '67-'76, averaging 20 points per game during his career.
