Best Network TV Shows for 2008
The Hit Network Television Shows of 2008 - Does Your Favorite Make the List?
1) House: Modern Mystery
This series welcomes a twist in mystery where the villain is a medical malady and the hero is a flippant, controversial doctor who trusts no one, least of all his patients. Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) is devoid of tactful bedside manner and wouldn't even talk to his patients if he could get away with it...
My thoughts: Sarcasm and other forms dry wit, really work for me so House is a series that really got my attention. It's serious and humorous at the same time - I love that!
2) Prison Break: Drama
After getting himself incarcerated in Fox River to free his wrongly accused brother, Lincoln Burrows, Michael Scofield is now on the loose-along with his brother. Tasked by a government agent, his new mission is to take down 'The Company' that destroyed his family.
My thoughts: Drama, drama, drama! After watching Prison break I always find that I have chewed off a few of my nails - this is really an intense one. On the eye-candy side of things, Wentworth Miller is really not that bad to look at either!
3) Heroes: Drama, Sci-fi, Action
Heroes is a serial saga about various types of people discovering that they have superpowers. Each has a unique power and their own way of trying to deal with how it affects their lives.
My thoughts: Complicated, but extremely entertaining. I trying to predict the way the plot will unravel, but I am hopelessly wrong each time!
4) Lost: Drama, Science Fiction
After Oceanic Air Flight 815 splits in half and crashes on a Pacific island, its survivors are forced to muster up inner strength they never knew they had in order to survive. They discover that their island holds many secrets, and least of all realize that they are not alone!
My thoughts: Wow. This is my favorite series at the moment. I am eagerly anticipating season 5 which should be airing soon. I find the plot and character development astounding.
5) Desperate Housewives: Drama, Comedy
Approximately nine years ago on a sunny day in a little town called Fairview, housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) decided to commit suicide. As a voice over, Mary Alice now takes us into the lives of her circle of girl friends, family and neighbors.
My thoughts: It's like a series of great 'chick-flicks' - with drama, laughs and romance. Definitely a thumbs up!
