THAT'S THE BEST NEWS EVER The Pastor sent me an email about a golfer who just played in a PGA tournament. With his winnings in his hand a lady approached him and said,"I have a dying baby." Upon hearing her plight he didn't hesitate to sign over the check to her, hoping she could "buy" some happiness and peace before her child died.
Later in the clubhouse some of his friends gathered around him and said, "you know that lady?" He nodded. "She has no dying baby."
He pushed back in his chair and said, "no dying baby? That's the best news ever."
I wonder how many of us would have reacted like that? Or would our human side surface and we would have wanted to track her down.
M atthew 6:3,4 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
The golfer gave her all his winnings that day, in good faith. She however, did a bad thing. It's not up to us to judge her. I like to call it an observation rather than a judgment.
2 Corinthians 9:7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
