Galway is Ireland's best city on the west coast of Ireland for Nightlife. It may be small in size but the Galway nightlife is some of the best in Ireland and if you happen to be in the city on a Friday or Saturday night you will get a chance to experience it. The best nightlife in Galway can be found in its many pubs and clubs, which cater to all kinds of tastes.

Galway nightlife consists of live bands, the trendiest DJs, traditional Irish music, trendy fashionable pubs and quieter old fashioned bars. The main and best nightlife in Galway can be found around Eyre Square, Ellington Street and Dominic Street.

Traditional Irish Music
If you are looking for a night of traditional Irish music there are a couple of venues that offer the best traditional nightlife in Galway. Probably the best is The Crane Bar. The Crane Bar is divided into two floors. One floor is an open area where any musician can walk in and start playing traditional music. This is almost always full of traditional Irish music players and you never now what to expect.

The other floor of the pub plays host to scheduled musicians a couple of times a week. If The Crane Bar doesn't suit you there are two other venues that offer some of the best traditional nightlife in Galway. These are Taaeffe and Tis Coiligh. Both of these pubs are located in the main Galway pub district and advertise their traditional music sessions on the door or just inside the door.

The Alley
This is one of the best trendy nightlife spots in Galway. The Alley attracts a twenty something crowd that are out for a night of dancing. There is no set dress code but it advisable to not wear sneakers and make some effort to turn up in trendy cloths. The Alley is located on William Street just offer Eyre Square.

Cuba
Cuba has earned its mention on the list of best nightlife in Galway. It is located on Eyre Square, right in central Galway. It plays host to excellent live music and comedy performances. They offer a variety of music types and are one of the best nightlife spots in Galway for Latin Jazz Funk music.

The Kings Head
If you are looking for live music in Galway then one of the best live music nightlife venues in Galway is The Kings Head. This is not a sleek super pub. Instead it is a large spacious pub with comfortable and cosy fireside seating. This is also one of Galway's most historic pubs with over 800 years of history. It is a popular location not only for its nightlife but also for its daytime entertainment, which includes lunchtime theatre and Sunday morning Jazz performances.

Central Park
This is probably the most popular nightclub in Galway so it has to be mentioned here as the best nightlife in Dublin. It is a good idea to get to this nightclub early, as due to its popularity it will fill up fast. It is a fairly large club that is spread over three floors and plays a variety of music.

Central Park is open seven nights a week and it consistently attracts lots of partygoers. The crowd tends to be twenty somethings and the dress is very trendy so make a little effort. If you want to experience the best nightlife in Galway then you won't want to miss Central Park.
