Best Nightlife in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

S H
Milwaukee nights are a happening time, and it can get overwhelming to try and find the perfect place to go on a Saturday night - or just about any night of the week! Listed are some of the best establishments - whether it be for partying, comedy, or theatre - in the city.

Bars and Clubs

Cush

The Cush Lounge is all into diversity, as you will find people of all ages and backgrounds at this lively club. They also have some of the best deals in town - offereng a "no cover charge ever" policy, $10 for open bar on Wednesday nights from 8 PM to 12 AM, and free cocktails for the ladies on Thursday nights.

Have a Nice Day Cafe

This is proclaimed to be one of the funnest places in Milwaukee, and perhaps there's truth in that. While they charge a cover of $5, this place is well worth it if all you're looking for is a great, no-hassle time with your friends. Open every Wednesday to Sunday, there is a different special every night - such as Ladies Night on Thursday and $1 Miller Lite bottles on Saturday - and definitely a club that's worth a check-out, if anything.

HiHat Lounge and Garage

Nominated Best of Milwaukee (best cocktail lounge, best martinis, and best appetizers), it's hard to go wrong at the HiHat Lounge. Normally different DJs play music every night, but Monday nights are reserved for something different - if you're into jazz, then head on over there for the performance of various jazz artists.

Mantra Lounge

If you're into various types of music and a diverse group of people, be sure to try out the Mantra Lounge. Open from 9 PM to 2 AM, Wednesday to Sunday, this club is said to have the best Ladies Night (Thursdays) in Milwaukee, not to mention one of the best varieties of DJs.

The Social

Milwaukee Journal has categorized The Social under the Top 30 Restaurants. So if you're looking for not only drinks, but food as well, you might want to give this place a shot. Like every other bar and club, they have specials every night. Something that is worth noting here, though, is the $0.50 oysters every day of the week.

Comedy Clubs

Comedy Cafe

The Comedy Cafe is the most popular comedy club in Milwaukee, not to mention the only one in the city that has ever been rated five-stars. A great place for newbie and headlining comedians alike.

ComedySportz

Looking for some great comedy that the whole family can enjoy? ComedySportz might be just the thing for you. Performers compete against each other as the audience provides suggestions and ideas for skits to be played out. Food is also available before, during, or even after the show.

Jokerz Comedy Club

For those 21 and older, this comedy club hosts some of the best comedians that have headlined throughout the nation. A great place to be for some non-stop laughs, but it should be noted that aside from the $10 fee that gets you in, there is also a two drink minimum.

Theatre

If you're just not into the all-night party scene, or simply want a change of pace, why not try some theatre? The Milwaukee Theatre always has a variety of different shows and events for just about anyone's taste. If you're looking for something a bit more classic, then the Milwaukee Repertory Theater is the place. Just remember to always book your tickets in advance, because they go quickly.
