#1. "Look, there's a moose..."for Garmin GPS - Yes, this commercial does involve gift giving since the tag line is "Give a Garmin" but I don't really think it has to be classified as a Christmas commercial. There are plenty of other holidays this time of year that also involve giving a gift or you could even be giving a present to someone just because you are a nice person. The bottom line is that this commercial is funny! A man is driving in his car, obviously very lost, as a chorus sings his thoughts to the tune of "Carol of the Bells". He passes the same moose twice and the close up of the moose's face is enough to make me laugh out loud every time. You can see the commercial here: www.youtube.com/watch
#2. "Budweiser horses snowball fight" for Budweiser - This is just a fun winter commercial involving the Budweiser clydesdales. One group of horses is pelting another group of horses with snowballs until one horse decides to play smarter, not harder. He leans against a tree causing all the snow to fall on the other horses. You would swear that the horses were smirking. You can watch this commercial here: www.youtube.com/watch
#3. "Campbell's Soup melts snowman" for Campbell's Soup. - This commercial has been playing for quite a few years now and yet I was unable to find a link to it which surprised me. It is still one of my favorites though so it stays on the list. This winter commercial shows a snowman coming inside the house from outside and sitting down at the table for a nice bowl of chicken soup. As the snowman eats, he starts to melt and reveals a young boy. I'm sure that anyone who has spent a day outside sledding and playing in the snow can relate to feeling like you have turned into a snowman. Not to mention the mothers out there looking at the puddle on the floor and remembering the days of cleaning puddles left behind by their own kids. This commercial is a classic and will probably still be played for years to come.
#4. "Weeping Snobot" for Staples - This commercial from a few years back also involves giving gifts, but that is the extent of the Christmas connection. Staples employees watch their new salesman (a robot snoman) as he suggests gift ideas for the people shopping. As they discuss how well he is working out a man asks the Snobot for some info on a printer/scanner/copier. The Snobot is horrified at the idea that someone might buy the machine as he has fallen in love with it and as the man takes the printer/scanner/copier away the Snobot looks down dejectedly saying "weeping weeping". Luckily he is appeased by a new love interest... This commercial is all about the delivery of the lines from the Snobot. Although you know it is silly, it still makes you laugh. This commercial can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch
#5. "Penguin Bowling with the Coca Cola Bears" for Coca Cola - These adorable, Coke drinking polar bears show up every year and share their love of both Coca Cola and playing in the snow. Some commercials do feature Christmas carols in the background or trees, but many are just polar bears playing. One of my favorites is the one where the polar bears are woken up by some noisy penguins having a party at the bottom of a hill. The baby polar bear slides down the hill and knocks over a bunch of the penguins, but all is forgiven and he is welcomed to the party by a baby penguin offering him a Coke. Baby penguins AND baby polar bears??!! How much cuter can it get? You can see this commercial here: www.youtube.com/watch
That's my list of favorites. Feel free to add your own in the comments!

Post a CommentI thought the Snobot one was cute!
What a fun look at these ads.
THE SNOWMAN COMMERCIAL IS AN OLDIE. ALWAYS LOVED IT. ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT, OR WHO THE YOUNG BOY WAS? WOULD BE INTERESTING AS TO WHERE HE IS NOW AND IF HE IS ACTING OR DOING COMMERCIALS YET.
I always love the polar bears! The Budweiser one is good too. Thanks for the links.
What a fascinating and unique slant for an article!
I remember seeing the Campbell's soup commercial and the polar bear one as well, I believe. Thanks for sharing this list of winter commercials.
I don't watch much TV, so I've not seen these commercials.
