The Orleans - Located on Tropicana Ave. just a few miles west of the Las Vegas Strip, The Orleans combines all that you love about Vegas with that Louisiana flair found only in New Orleans. While the rooms are not extravagant or indulgent, they are still beautifully decorated and clean. Prices range about 50$ per night on weekdays and $100 and up on weekends. Gaming here is more affordable and player friendly as the minimums are not as outrageous as some of the tables on the LV Strip. The on ground amenities are the most attractive part of this casino. Complete with a giant movie theater, a full fledge arcade, a kid's tyme supervision service, and 70 lanes of bowling, The Orleans is definitely a kid friendly hotel. For the grown ups, spas, music lounge, and shows are readily available. Plenty of affordable yet delicious food is also located inside the casino. The cafe even boasts a $4 midnight steak and eggs deal on weeknights. The Prime Rib loft and Terrible's snack shack are also fantastic restaurants to visit while you stay at the Orleans. In addition, the Orleans offers a free shuttle service to the Las Vegas Strip seven days a week from 9:30am to midnight approximately every 20-30 minutes! The Orleans is definitely one of the best hotels for families traveling with children. Similar casinos to The Orleans includes the Suncoast, but that is much further away from the Strip. However, if you are a golfer, know that the Suncoast boasts an insanely beautiful golf course that will give you great satisfaction.
The Palms - If the Orleans is the best hotel for families, then The Palms is the best hotel for singles in their mid 20's and those young in spirit. The Palms oozes seduction and is a vibrant hub for nightlife. From the Ghost bar to Rain to Moon, you will find what you are looking for. Celebrities also occasionally frequent this hotel and it's nightclubs, so if you are lucky you might just run into a star! Other amenities include theaters, a pool & spa, a beauty salon as well as various restaurants. Guest rooms are beautifully adorned and furnished and is definitely up to par with Las Vegas standards. Rooms are much more expensive and are about $100 per night on weekdays and around $200 a night on weekends.
Red Rock Hotel Casino - The Red Rock represents another type of off-strip hotel in Las Vegas. While it offers all of the top restaurants, beautiful pools, and electrifying entertainment you would expect from another other Las Vegas hotel, the Red Rock has several offerings unique only to this Hotel. The first is the truly worthwhile buffet that this casino offers. The Feast Buffet is comparible in quality to some of the top buffets in Las Vegas such as Bellagio and Venetian for only a fraction of the cost, in fact half of the cost; a definite can't miss deal for all those who love food. The second most noteworthy thing about this casino is the serene and calm atmostphere. Because Red Rock Hotel is located so far from the Las Vegas Strip and from even the locals that it is far quieter and relaxing than most other Vegas hotels. The indoor air is not smoke filled and the noise is minimum. Definitely a perfect hotel for relaxing and getting away from all the chaos of the Strip. Finally, Red Rock offers adventure spas for visitors who enjoy the outdoors and nature. Situated at the gateway to one of the most beautiful Federal parks in the country, the hotel is able to provide hiking, biking, kayaking and horseback riding adventures. No other casinos in Las Vegas can offer this! The hotel rooms in Red Rock Hotel are luxurious and 5 star in quality. Prices range from $150 per day on weekdays to $200 per day on weekends.
Come to this hotel for the ultimate in relaxation. What's more, your kids will be kept busy in the beautiful and clean cinemas, kids quest adventure room, arcade, and bowling lanes! The Green Valley Ranch is a similar hotel/casino on the other side of Las Vegas; while the atmosphere is also relaxing it does not offer as many activities that Red Rock offers.
The South Point - Located south of Las Vegas, the South Point is a newer hotel built on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Everything in this hotel screams luxurious yet economical! From the food to the rooms to the entertainment, you get the best but pay less! Rooms range from $50 per night on weekdays to $100 per night on weekends. The only downfall of this hotel is that it is quite far away from the strip, however, free shuttle services are available to the souther most hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard (Mandalay Bay) as well as to the airport. Cinemas and bowling is also available at this hotel. If you want the best value for your money and don't mind riding the shuttle occasionally, this is probably the best hotel for you!
Now that you know all of the insider secrets, next time you head to Las Vegas, don't get stuck in the heart of the Strip only. Venture out and be bold to experience some of the best Vegas has to offer! Until next time, travel well and prosper!
