Best Orlando Hotels for Pets and Their Owners
A Guide for the Best Disney Resorts and Disney Area Resorts (On and Off Property) that Cater to Pets
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground allows pets. Now you may not own a RV, but did you know you can rent one? There are companies, catering to WDW travelers, who want to experience one of the best Orlando hotels on site: a rented RV. Why is this a great idea? There are no wait times for housekeeping to service your room, no need to search for a late night snack and best of all, your pet can stay with you. Most RV rentals charge about $125-$150 per day. In addition, you will need to pay for your site hook-up at Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground, about $50-$90 per day depending on site size and time of year, and a small pet fee, usually about $3 per day.
If a hotel is more to your liking, consider staying at the Sheraton Safari Resort. If you are familiar with the Downtown Disney area, you will walk along Hotel Plaza Blvd , cross the street to the Crossroads Shopping Center and, on the same side of the road, walk approximately two blocks. It is a bit of a walk for those not accustomed to walking; however, it is the closest hotel to Downtown Disney that allows pets, making it one of the best pet friendly hotels for Disney travelers.
Finally, if you are traveling by air with your pet, you will want to find one of the best Orlando hotels close to the airport. My recommendation, is the La Quinta Airport North. This hotel is a part of one of the best pet friendly hotel chains, La Quinta. What makes La Quinta hotels so great? In addition to being pet friendly, there are no additional nightly fees or non-refundable deposits pet owns must pay. If needing to fly home with your pet, the La Quinta Airport North, MCO Airport area ( Orlando ) is a top recommendation.
To choose the best Orlando pet friendly hotel, visit a travel review site such as Tripadvisor.com, a hotel booking site with reviews or perform a search on your hotel to see what others are saying about it. Remember when traveling with your pet to investigate pet policies, as some of the best Orlando hotels may sound attractive on their websites until you find out there will be a $200 non-refundable pet cleaning fee. Why spend that kind of money when you can be putting it towards your vacation, or towards a Disney World souvenir for your pet?
