Chris Ware
For most people a vacation is about relaxing and getting away from it all. This article will not cover relaxing but it will cover getting away from it all. If you are a fitness fanatic then you will want to know about the best destinations for fitness travel. This article will tell you all you need to know about the best destinations for fitness travel. Whatever your sport this article has you covered.

Yellowstone

Yellowstone is a great place for hiking. There are many trails of varying lengths. If you enjoy the hiking trails in your neighborhood then you will love the trails in Yosemite. The area is pretty flat so the distance you go will determine how challenging the hikes are. The are will be some hills but no mountains to hike. The cost of a place to stay varies if you want to stay in a hotel in or near the park of if you want to camp. Prices fall in every ones budget from the ultra expensive Old Faithful Inn which is the only hotel located in the park to simple state camping sites. You should bring food with you since food in the park is pricey.

Mammoth Mountain

Most people know how to ride a bike but not everyone knows how to ride mountain bikes. If you are one of those that loves the thrill of mountain biking compared to traditional biking then Mammoth Mountain in California is going to be one of the best destinations for fitness travel for you. There are lots of trails during the summer months here some are even free. The trails are taken care of and there are lots of amenities on the trails such as water, and restrooms. Hardcore mountain bikers may be disappointed in the lack of technical sections with difficulty being based solely on the steepness of the terrain. The altitude might be one of the biggest challenges here. Mammoth Mountain is another spot where you will be able to find lodgings from the expensive luxury hotel to the modest camping site. Mountain biking is both fun and a great exercise making it a great fitness travel destination.

Park City Mountain Sky Resort

Whether you ski or snowboard Park City Mountain Sky Resort is one of the best places in the country for you to experience your sport. Park City Mountain Sky Resort is truly a world class quality resort having hosted the Olympics in 2002. The hotels can be expensive here but if you are willing to drive a little ways to the slopes then cheaper hotel and motel options are available to you nearby Salt Lake, Provo, or other Utah cities. This is a great place to not only have a good workout while having fun but you can play in the snow when you are not playing on the slopes.

Huntinghton Beach

Huntinghton Beach offers some of the best surfing in all of California. There is a reason this place is called Surf City. The best thing about this place is it is one of the most consistent breaks in the world. You can assume when you you go its going to be surfable. With a slow drop off the rides are long especially compared to the Northern California surf spots. Camping in the area is possible but you will have to get reservations long in advanced from the state. If you can get state camping it is cheap and a great spot. There are lots of motels and hotels of varying prices in the area if you cant camp. Even if surfing is not your thing there is plenty to do such as bike ride or jog along the coast.

Clear Lake

Clear Lake is the largest lake located completely in California. One great thing about Clear Lake for boating is that the water level is the same year round. The water can be a bit cold in the winter but it is warmer then Lake Tahoe which is more popular and therefore more crowded. Clear Lake also has some great fishing but you should limit the consumption as it is near an old abandoned mercury mine. Camping is your best choice if you want to go to clear lake as there are no hotels nearby unless you are willing to drive to the lake everyday.

Whatever sport you like there are plenty of places to vacation to experience your favorite sports. But these locations are the best destinations for fitness travel.
