For lighting the porch and the roof line, I would have to choose the longest set of icicle lights I can find, and that can be found at Target, both on line and in store. This long set of lights is 268 inches long, with 300 clear lights. This will almost entirely wrap completely around my porch. This extra long set is great if this is what you want to do, and with having to only worry about plugging in multiple string of lights, is a huge plus for this item. This set can be set to stay steady or to blink. This set comes with energy saving bulbs, two spare bulbs and a spare fuse. This set can be used indoors or outdoors.
For the next string that I would have to have, I would choose the LED snowflake string lights to put around the bottom of the big oak trees in my front yard. I have two and I would need to string one on the lower branches of each, giving it the effect that the snow is falling from the branches. Each set is 108 inches long with 60 white lighted snowflakes. This is a electric set, and you would need to use a power supply with these. You can check out the great power boxes that they have to keep the electrical cords up off the ground. 27 inches of extra cord on the plug end gives you plenty of room to reach to the ground and to a power source. Each of these sets only cost $12.99 and are a great buy!
For decorating the porch posts, I would have to use some green garland and then wrap them with this great set of lighted Holly. These lights has 36 clear lights on a 236 inch string. This is plenty long enough to start at the bottom of one of the posts, and up and over and to the bottom of the other post, making it easy to hook into a power supply. This set is continuous lighting with clusters of holly and berries. What a great idea to use to wrap around your porch and rails with your garland.
Then I have a sidewalk that comes up to my front porch from the street. With this, I would have to choose the C7 Bulb Lighted lawn stakes. These are shaped like huge old fashioned Christmas lights. There is five in a set, and this set comes unassembled so you will need to put them together. They are fairly easy to assemble once you got the first one done. These lights are just $15.99 for the set of five.
Along with these, I would have to use the Chunky Candy Cane set. This set is designed similar to the C7 Bulb Lighted lawn stakes, and I want to have one set on each side of the side walk. The candy canes come also in a set of 5 and stand just 9 inches tall and sell for $14.99. These are made of plastic.
All of these items are available in store and on line. You may want to call ahead for availability and keep in mind that prices vary from on line and store to store. Have fun decorating your outdoors!
