Best Place to Eat Dinner in Vancouver, WA - McGrath's Fish House
Looking for Somewhere Special to Eat in Vancouver, WA? Try McGrath's Fish House
Once you are seated you can order an appetizer or get started ordering your meal. For appetizers you can select from items such as mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, calamari rings, and a few other treats. Don't fill up on the appetizers though or you won't be able to enjoy your meal. Dinner starts off with your choice of a fresh garden salad (or one of their other salads), chowder, or both if you want. I'm a salad eater and I can say that McGrath's garden salad is always fresh and nicely prepared. The lunch and dinner menus feature daily specials and McGrath's standard choices. You can choose from several different types of seafood - salmon, catfish, halibut, crab, prawns, oysters, and more. My favorite selection on the menu is the cajun grilled freshwater catfish with rice pilaf. It is always succulent and juicy and very flavorful. I have also sampled some of their specialties. My favorite one was a dinner featuring halibut in plum sauce. Not only was it tasty and delicious, the presentation of the meal was very beautiful. My only disappointment was that it was a special, and not a regular item on the menu. If you don't like seafood you can choose from steak, chicken, pasta, or some of their other dinners. While you're eating dinner, you will probably notice the dessert menu which is conveniently located on most tables. The desserts they offer are a meal in themselves. They have a key-lime pie, a mile-high mud pie, an apple crisp, cheesecake, marionberry cobbler, mousse, and bread pudding. McGrath's also has a kid's menu for children.
The meals at McGrath's are affordable. They range in price from $10 to $20 a meal. They are also very filling. The service at McGrath's is good. The manager makes a point to stop by every table and ask how you are, which is something I've never seen before at restaurants. If I had to rate McGrath's on a scale from one to five, with five being the best, I would give them a four. The one thing they need to improve upon is dessert selections for the diet conscious. Once they do that, I will give them a five. McGrath's is located at 12501 S.E. Second Circle in Vancouver, Washington.
