Flap Jack's Pancake House

Flap Jack's is an Indiana exclusive, with five locations around the Indianapolis area, and it is quite comprehensive in its offerings. Keying on the idea that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, Flap Jack's serves up a menu of tradition American favorites along with more unusual dishes with an international flair. Some of their specialties include gourmet flap jacks (Hawaiin, banana nut, pecan, etc.), Belgium waffles, omelets, and combination skillets. Flap Jack's also offers a full lunch menu, and while they're a bit more expensive than the local fast food joint, any of their fine breakfast dishes can be had for less than $10.

Papa's Pancake House
Located at 7606 Pendleton Pike in Indianapolis, Papa's Pancake House is a throwback to earlier times when "mom and pop" served you huge helpings of good food in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Of course, IHOP also offers a full complement of omelets, meats, biscuits, and a bottomless pitcher of coffee. For this list, IHOP clearly bests a worthy cadre of chain restaurants that includes Bob Evans, Perkins, and Denny's.
