My son and his wife both used EyeBuyDirect, and were more than satisfied. Local opticians do not offer the price or the service. I was told that if your glasses are "ordered" for you locally, the lenses are most likely ground at one of these facilities.

I've used Eye Buy Direct. It was a great experience and the cost was about 20% of the cost locally.

I will definitely try these sites, I'd love to see how I look in different styles of glasses. The part I hate about getting new frames is you can't see good, so you can't really see how the frames actually look on you. One problem I have with glasses is if I get glasses that come a little too close to my eyes, my eyelashes hit the lense. And that's a problem even if you try them on in person, because they don't have lenses in the frames you try.

    Interesting concept.
