Charley's Café
Located on Main Street, Charley's Café offers a variety of traditional Southern dishes, including Shrimp and Grits and lemon chicken. Their club sandwich is also the best around and has turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, and tomato, plus a side of fries for less than $7.
Mully's Restaurant & Catering
If you like soul food, head to Mully's located on the Lancaster Bypass. Mully's has a buffet you can eat from or you can order off the menu. The buffet is only $4.99/pound to-go and has fried chicken, vegetables, and the best macaroni and cheese in town. Off the menu, the fried porkchops and meat loaf are the excellent.
Jomars Family Restaurant
If you want to splurge and have a steak for lunch, try Jomars, as they have the best in town. For $9.95, you can get a 12 oz. ribeye, a baked potato, fried onion rings, steak toast, and two sides of vegetables. You may want to consider splitting this lunch with someone else. The sirloin tips are also good and if you don't want steak, get a to-go box and fill it up with food from the buffet. The buffet has chicken, okra, macaroni, and much more.
Gus's Family Restaurant
While Gus's has a lot of menu options, you must try the pizza. It is by far the best in a town dominated by chain pizza places. Split a pizza or a stromboli with a coworker for lunch at around $5 each. Gus's pastrami sub is also good at only $5.
Wheel-In Restaurant
Wheel-In has the best short order food around. If you're looking for a great hamburger or hotdog, this is the place to go. Their foot-long is great and only costs $3.99 and comes with a heaping side of fries. Wheel-In also has the best salad bar in town and you can fill up a box full of your favorite salad toppings for $5. Another favorite is their chicken tenders, which are breaded a little differently from most short-order restaurants and are a little crispier. Try their chicken boat for under $6, which also includes a big side of fries.
La Maceta
This restaurant offers authentic Mexican food. While there are many great things to choose from, if you like chicken at all, you must try their fajita burrito with chicken for $6.50. Their quesadillas are also very good and you can get one of those with beef and cheese for only $3.25. If you don't mind getting your hands a little messy, get their beef nachos for $4. The nachos will be more than enough for lunch, with a snack later.
Make sure to call ahead so your order is ready when you arrive if you aren't eating off a buffet at these restaurants.
