When it comes to finding a good place to live in the United States there are many factors that need to be taken into consideration. You want to know about the schools, the cost of housing and much more. Following is a list of the top ten places to live in the United States.

Hanover, New Hampshire

If it is open space you want and plenty of diversity than Hanover is a good option. This particular location is known for having rough winters so if you are not enthusiastic about snow you may want to think twice. The population is 10,850 according to the 2000 US Census which would include all students at Dartmouth College. Dartmouth College is also the largest employer in the area with a total of 3,200 employees. The median home price is about $674,000. As of 2006 they had a total of 3,121 housing units and 2,217 single family homes. For multi family homes there was a total of 898 according to the New Hampshire office of Energy and Planning. This quaint town is located just two hours away from Boston, and a total of five hours from New York City. When you break down the population by age group you will find that the majority of the population in the area is between the ages of 20 to 34. Obviously this has a lot to do with the local college. They have a 96.6 % high school graduate rate which is excellent.

The annual income for a median 4 person family is about $99,158, based on the 1999 US Census. When it comes to education they are ranked as number 7 in the region. They have one elementary school, one middle school and one high school. If you are wondering about child care facilities they have a total of 12 which can accommodate about 375 people. When it comes to recreation they have several municipal parks, golf courses, outdoor swimming facilities, tennis courts, ice skating rink, museums, cinemas, and youth organizations. They also have plenty of campgrounds, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, and beach and waterfront recreation as well. So not only is Hanover New Hampshire a great place to live but there is also plenty for anyone to do.

Lake Mary, Florida

One of the best features of Lake Mary Florida is than you are not far from all of the fun. It is located in Seminole County. This nice little city is located just 30 minutes from Orlando and only 45 minutes from Daytona Beach. When it comes to recreation there is plenty of fishing and golf courses galore. The only down side to this area really seems to be the hurricanes. Despite the weather it really is a nice community to live in. They also have the lowest crime rate in all of Florida.

When it comes to recreation they have a very nice community center which is used year round for activities. There is also a sports complex, which is used for inline skating and even freestyle bicycling. Liberty Park is a great place to take the kids for a picnic or a stroll down the board walk. They also have Central park, and plenty of golf courses at their local country clubs. For fishing there is the very popular St. Johns River, and of course Walt Disney World for amusement park fun is not far away.

Nether Providence, Pennsylvania

This little town is located right outside of Philadelphia just twenty minutes away. The town itself is only 4.6 square miles and will make you feel like you are miles away from any type of city life. About 30% of those who live in the town commute to the city to work. The average median home price as of 2006 is $309,319. The average property taxes for that same year was about $3,640. They have some of the top rated schools in the country. According to the US Census Bureau as of 200 the total population was 13,456. A total of 74.3% of the population during 2000 was over the age of 18.

Milton, Massachusets

Chaska, Minnisota

Chaska is a very beautiful place to live. It is only 25 miles from Minneapolis. The total population according the US Census Bureau in 2006 is 22,500. The median home price for the same year was $272,932 and the taxes $2,752. What makes this area so great is that they have nice jobs and wonderful winters. They are located in Carver County Minnesota. Their downtown area of Chasks is on the Minnesota River and provides for some beautiful views. According to the 2005 census there were a total of 6,235 housing units. The median household income for the same year was $60,325, and for a family the median income was $69,612. Louisville Colorado really does feel like a small old town with a warm feel to it. According to the 2006 Census the population was 19,400, and the median home price was $322,812. Property taxes for the same year were $1,986. Technology firms seem to be the largest employment in the area. This nice little town is located in Boulder County in Colorado.

In July of 2005 they were in CNN's money magazine as the fifth best places to live in the united States, and in 2006 the book Best Places to Raise Your Family listed them as number one. They have a total of 26 city parks, recreation and senior centers, 20 bike trails an paths, a huge library with separate study rooms, and plenty of recreational activities which are planned through out the year.

Montville, New Jersey

Montville new Jersey has some of the greatest schools and plenty or parks for recreational activities. According to the US census bureau the population as of 2006 was 22,100 and the median home price was $581,073. The average property taxes for the same year was $7,544. Obviously it is not one of the cheapest places to live, but if you have a family it is definitely a great location. Montville township is located in Morris County.

Holly Springs, North Carolina

Holly Springs still has homes for sale that offer plenty of property. This is definitely one area where you don't have to worry about being overcrowded. This is despite the fact that it is becoming the quickest growing town. Despite the sudden surge in population and more businesses they are still trying to maintain their country feel. According to the US census the population as of 2006 was 18,214 median home price was about $242,785. The average cost of property taxes for the same year was about $1,741.

In hiss borough you will find plenty of parks and open space. They also have some of the highest rated schools in the area. Hillsborough is part of Somerset County New Jersey and according to the 2000 Census the population was about 36,634.

    You did a great job...you could have broken it down to part 1, 2, 3 and get paid for each section..lol!...i wonder how they determine this stuff..i know lake mary..it's not that spectacular ..i can think of a lot of better place with no crime, low expenses and more around it yet far away from things..i live in florida about 30 miles away..and have a home in Ga..i'll take that home in Ga anytime..lol!...someone had to be paying someone off..but you put a lot of work in this..great article!!
