There are many fun things to see and do in and around Jacksonville. There are great restaurants, beautiful beaches, parks, and museums. Whatever you choose to do in Jacksonville, you can be certain that partaking in an activity unrelated to school will be beneficial to your well being and prevent you from becoming burned out.
If shopping is your passion, have no fear, there are several malls in Jacksonville that will satisfy your inner shopaholic.
Avenues Mall
The Avenues Mall is located on the corner of Southside Boulevard and Phillips Highway about 5 miles from Florida Coastal. The mall has two floors and features 5 department stores including Sears and Belk and 150 specialty shops such as Banana Republic and Abercrombie & Fitch. The Avenues Mall also houses 20 stores that cannot be found outside of the Jacksonville area. In addition to a diverse food court, the mall also has a Ruby Tuesday restaurant for hungry shoppers. The Avenues Mall is open from 10-6 Monday-Saturday and from noon-6 on Sundays.
St John's Town Center
The newest mall in Jacksonville, the St. John's Town Center is an open air mall located off of Gate Parkway on River City Drive about 5 miles from Florida Coastal. The open air concept of the mall is a pleasant experience for shoppers and offers a selection of stores including Dillard's, Ashley Furniture Home Store, Old Navy, and many other trendy specialty shops. St John's Town Center is also the site of several popular restaurants. The Cheesecake Factory, Italian eatery Maggiano's, and Asian bistro PF Chang's all have locations within the mall. St. John's Town Center is open from 10-9 Monday-Saturday and from 11-6 on Sundays.
Regency Square Mall
The Regency Square Mall is North Florida's largest shopping center and is located at 9501 Arlington Expressway about 10 miles from Florida Coastal. The mall features over 170 stores including big names like Belk, Dillard's, and Sears and many smaller specialty stores. The Regency Square also offers shoppers a movie theater and a food court. The mall is not quite as high end as some of the other malls in the area, so it is great for students who are living on a budget. The Regency Square is open from 10-9 Monday-Saturday and from noon-6 on Sundays.
