Best Places to Spot Bigfoot in the United States

g christine
Whether he goes by the name Sasquach, Yeti or Bigfoot, the legendary hairy ape-like creature has been seen by thousands across the United States over the years. Native Americans have tales of Bigfoot reaching back possibly thousands of years. If you are a fan of Bigfoot, here are some of the best places around the country to catch sight of the big guy.

The Pacific Northwest

The entire region of the Pacific Northwest is by far the best place th search of Bigfoot. More sightings have come from this area than any other in the entire country. In western Washington State, popular hot-spots are the Olympic Peninsula, the Cascade Mountains, and Skamia County. In Oregon, look in the Cascade Mountains foothills, Saddle Mountain in Clatsop County, or the Red Butte Wilderness area for likely places to spot Sasquach.

Coshocton County, Ohio

Coshocton County in Ohio is one of the most famous Bigfoot hot-spots outside the Pacific Northwest. There are plenty of places Bigfoot could hide, with lots of game, fresh water and cover in the wilderness of the Wayne National Forest. In some ares, old mining companies from the 40's on through the 70's dug up the earth, leaving a jagged terrain, which has become a hot-spot for Bigfoot sightings.

White Mountain Apache Reservation

The White Mountain Apache Reservation in Arizona has become a more recent Bigfoot hot-spot. A wildfire in 2003 supposedly forced out the Bigfoot population, out of the mountains and down into the reservation. Sightings in the area have increased dramatically since the fire.

Willow Creek, California

Willow Creek, California, is the self-proclaimed capital of Bigfoot sightings in the U.S. They have a life-sized statue, a museum devoted to Bigfoot, a hotel, and even a cage that supposedly once housed a replica. Every year, Willow Creek has it's Annual Bigfoot Celebration, with a parade, ice cream social, and fireman's barbecue.

Uintah Mountains, Utah

The Uintah Mountains in Utah are a major hot-spot for Bigfoot sightings.Tracks, foul odors and strange happenings, including sightings in the middle of small towns in the area, have been reported for decades. Hunters, campers and residents and even such respectable residents such as police officers have reported Bigfoot encounters or sightings over the years. Hair samples, track molds, photographs and other evidence have been taken in the area of the Uintah Mountains.

Florida Swamps

The Florida Skunk Ape is Florida's version of Bigfoot. Reported by many to be living in the swamps and forests of the wilder parts of Florida, the Skunk Ape is big, hairy, and supposedly stinks. Thus his name. Sightings from the Everglades are especially abundant. Reports show that the Skunk Ape smells a lot like rotten eggs.

I live in Coshocton County, Ohio; I have had my 'shine stolen by several Bigfoots over the years, and was kidnapped by one in '84. He made me his love-toy. I escaped by disguising myself as a woman, which apparently disgusted him.
