Best Places to Take Your Dog for a Swim in New Rochelle, New York

SDR2010
A few months ago my cousin was given a new Retriever dog and this has been a new experience for my entire family because the dog has been a lot of work. He requires a lot of attention but in exchange he is a very loyal dog that has the ability to also play with the younger members of my family. However, we live in a society today where many people see dogs as a problem and people bringing their dogs along annoy them. With Summer approaching it is important that you find the best locations for your dog to swim locally because dogs require washing in addition to exercise. We have looked a lot of places around town and we have found some of the best places you can take your dog to swim in New Rochelle, NY and I believe you will enjoy these places as much as we do.

Hudson Park Beach is one of the best places that you can bring your dog to swim because they have lifeguards on duty from 10AM to 6PM every day during the summer. The beach officially closes at 8PM every night but I find that the people who frequent this beach and dog friendly and don't mind when people bring their dogs for a swim. The children are very friendly to the dogs and the lifeguards are protective of the dogs during their swim. However, it will cost you $4 to enter the beach for the day but it is well worth the money and they are located at 75 Hudson Park Rd.

Glen Island Park is located at 400 Pelham Rd. in New Rochelle, NY and what I enjoy about this place is admission is free. The park is open 24 hours but you should take the dog for a swim before 7PM since it is safest when the sun is out. This park is a place for picnics and they have a playground for children. People are often feeding ducks here and you can allow your dog to swim until he gets tired. However, there is no lifeguard here but it is a great free option that is available whenever you would like to take your dog for a swim.

Five Islands Park is a great place to take your dog for a swim because it is excluded and your dog is free to swim as he likes. They close at 9PM and your dog will have to swim off a dock but the children there and very friendly to dogs and this makes for an enjoyable experience.
