Best Places for Thanksgiving and Holiday Meals in Columbus, Ohio

Every year it seems to get more hectic at Thanksgiving and less time spending with your family, especially if you don't have any close family living near you. Well, before you head out to the early bird sales, here are some ideas on where to for a good Thanksgiving dinner around the Columbus, Ohio area.

-Ohio Village, located on I-71 and East 17th Avenue. They are celebrating early, on November 19th, but that means that you have more time to shop or watch sports and parades on Thanksgiving Day!

Festivities will begin at 4 P.M. They will not only have a dinner for you, but they also will have singing by the Ohio Village Singers. The dinner will be traditional and will be held at the American House Hotel. Prices are as follows (for both dinner and concert): $57 plus $4 parking. If you are a member of the Ohio Historical Society prices are $47 and $4 parking.

I had trouble finding information about the cost of children, so upon calling the Ohio Historical Society, they informed me that if you have children 5 and under they are not charged to eat, but must share a plate with an adult…no individual plates for them. If the children are over 5, you must pay the $57 fee for non-members or $47 fee for members. I know this is a lot to pay for a 6 year old to eat, so I suggest this be an adult day out unless you have children under 5. Please make sure your children under 5 will cooperate if you decide to attend the concert. I know it's a somewhat "family" event, but please be courteous to those who attend without children.

-Lindey's Restaurant & Bar or Lindey's Café at Polaris. The restaurant is located at 169 E. Beck Street in German Village and the Café at Polaris is located in the mall at 1500 Polaris Parkway, Suite 200. This is a great place to go for adults and children as well.

They will both have Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day and both require reservations. The prices are as follows: Lindey's in German Village: Adults are $39.95 for a 3-course meal with lots of options. Children 12 and younger are $9.95. The dinner will be available 11 A.M until 7 P.M. Lindey's at Polaris Mall: Adults are $28.95 and children 4 to 12 are $6.95. They will have a traditional food bar along with a chilled seafood bar as well. For reservations, please call 614-410-0310.

-Salvi's Bistro, located at 1323 St. James Lutheran Lane, will be offering traditional Thanksgiving food with an Italian touch on an all-you-can-eat buffet.

They are priced very reasonable at $19.95 for adults, $9.50 for children 4 to 11, and children under 4 are free. They will be serving Thanksgiving from 10 A.M until 8 P.M. For reservations, please call: 614-870-87688.

With these options for adults or families and the low prices with the excellent choices in food, who could go wrong? Why slave over a hot stove all day for only a couple of people? Go out, relax, and enjoy the company of strangers. And imagine all of the time you will have for napping afterwards with no clean up!
