If you live in and around Long Beach or Lakewood and need a place to grab Thanksgiving dinner, my top five will sure to please. And Yes I have eaten at everyone.

5. Black Angus - The Black Angus on Candlewood and Clark in Lakewood will sure to please your pocket and family. Not only do they have kids under 2 eat free. They also have all you can eat Turkey. Go figure that, a steak house would have all you can eat Turkey.

Doors open at Ten am, so be early because that Hatfields and the McCoy's will be in line at 9am with all the family.

4.M&M Soul food restaurant if you know where Cal Bowling is on Carson St. and Cherry in Long Beach, You know that inside the bowling ally is one of the last few authentic M&M Soul food restaurants. I mean giblet gravy, liver and onions, catfish and more. During the Holiday season, they add Turkey wings and dressing to there menu, and will take family orders as long as they are placed 48hrs in advanced. Don't plan on eating in the restaurant unless you mind waiting 2 hours or more.

They server good food, but they are slow when orders get crazy. I would suggest placing an order early and checking back to make sure when the order will be ready. If you are looking for a dinner that will make you want to lie down and take off your pants, this joint is it. Warning massive portions served here.

3. Moffett Chicken Pie Restaurant this restaurant is located on Lakewood Blvd a half mile past the 91fwy. This place looks like a hole in the wall run down restaurant. But my I must confess and grandma I'm sorry. Their gravy is killer. They specialize in chicken potpie, and gravy. All kinds of gravy, white gravy, brown gravy, chicken gravy, beef gravy. If it can be gravy this place has created it. They have ample room for a family of 8 or more. And can handle large orders either dine-in or take-out. I would suggest placing an order 48hours in advanced just to be safe.

The staff has a home style approach to cooking and service, and the Los Angeles Lakers game is always on. If you are looking for family atmosphere closet to home this place has it.

2.Charley Browns Restaurant. Normally I don't tell people about this place because I want to keep it to my self. Why? The buffet brunch is the closest thing to Vegas food I have come to. Ohh my just thinking about it makes me want to make reservations. But when it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, this restaurant shines just as bright as any 4 star resturant. Reservations for Thanksgiving dinner are not required but recommend. It is located on Cherry Ave in Long Beach just shy of the 405fwy.

Charley's has comfortable seating for large parties, and as well as a small cove perfect for parties of 2 or 4. Service is friendly and fast, and they boast and excellent sections of wines to go along with dinner. For an elegant Thanks giving dinner with out the 5 star bill Charley's it is.

Pay close attention to times here. Thanksgiving dinner is served in 3 different places and different times depending on how much you want to spend. Reservations are Requested
