Spending the Thanksgiving holiday in San Antonio? Be sure to spoil yourself for the big meal! The Alamo City offers a variety of Thanksgiving meals for diners, ranging from fine dining to casual and at price points to meet the frugal travel's budget.

Las Canarias, located in the Omni La Mansión del Rio at 112 College Street, provides an extravagant Thanksgiving feast. Headed by executive chefs, Las Canarias is fine dining at its best. The restaurant features three levels of dining overlooking San Antonio's famous Riverwalk. Known for its romantic atmosphere, diners will find an exquisite selection of food with more than a dozen options for dessert. Thanksgiving dinner runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 4 to 9 p.m. Expect to pay about $60 per a person for the full Las Canarias experience. Complimentary valet parking also available. Colonial Room Restaurant, located in the famous Menger Hotel at 204 Alamo Plaza, features turn of the century architecture and one of the most renowned Thanksgiving buffets in San Antonio. The exquisite Thanksgiving spread is compliments with a visit to the Menger Hotel Bar, a place that once received the likes of Teddy Roosevelt. In addition, the Menger Hotel is located right next to the Alamo along San Antonio's famous Riverwalk. Adults are $30.95 and children 5 to 12 are $27.95, children under 5 are free. Antler's Lodge, located in the Hyatt Regency at 9800 Hyatt Resort Dr., provides family friendly dining for the Thanksgiving holiday with prices $50 and up. For reservations, call (210) 520-4001.

The Buckhorn Saloon & Museum, located next to Hyatt only a few minutes away from the Alamo and the Riverwalk, was another popular hangout of former president Teddy Roosevelt. While you wait, you can visit the famed museum of features preserved animals from all over the world. In 2002, the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum was voted "Best Attraction" in the area. Luby's Cafeteria, located at 911 N Main Ave, provides a quality Thanksgiving meal for less than $15. Very casual and family friendly, visitors claim Luby's is a great way to satisfy your Turkey tooth and still have money to enjoy all that San Antonio has to offer. Additionally, children eat free. Buffet and cafeteria-style dining welcome large groups and those dining alone. Call for reservations well in advance, as San Antonio is a popular location for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Expect temperatures in the low 70s to high 60s, so outdoor dining may or may not be available at many locations. San Antonio is a rather casual city, even when it concerns fine dining, so there's no need to be intimidated by the luxurious atmosphere.
