If you are going to be in Youngstown, Ohio, for the Super Bowl and are looking for a great place to relax and catch the game, you are in luck because this city is packed with great bars and restaurants that will be showing the Giants and Patriots face-off. Bill's Place
Located at 4771 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown, Bill's Place was a favorite of mine when I attended Youngstown State University. This is just a small neighborhood bar - nothing fancy - and that is what is so great about it. The food is good, and you will find your typical bar foods like wings, fries, and other appetizer dishes. Another great aspect is that the drinks are cheap. You can get domestic drafts for a couple bucks. Most nights of the week, you will be able to enjoy a DJ. So, if you are looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl, but don't have a lot of cash, this would be a good choice. The phone number is 330-270-1703.
Youngstown Sports Grille
The Youngstown Sports Grille is located at 7463 South Ave. in Youngstown. This is a sports bar and restaurant, but as for the food, it is mostly bar food with just a few entrees. They take pride in their wings. You will be able to see a flat-screen television regardless of where you sit. The beer and liquor selection is really nice, too. The phone number is 330-758-7043.
Big's Sports Bar
If you want to watch the Super Bowl, but do not have a lot of cash to spend, then Big's Sports Bar is within your budget. This bar is located at 1597 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown. You will not spend more than $10 per person to eat, and the portions are very good-sized. Drinks are also well-priced, and domestic drafts are only a few bucks. They generally run specials for big sports events, so the Super Bowl will be a great day to go. The phone number is 330-270-9308.

Chipper's Sports Bar
This sports bar is located at 5 N. Edgehill Ave. in Youngstown. You can actually get a double cheeseburger - and a big one - for just $4.50 at Chipper's Sports Bar. You just cannot beat this. They also have hot dogs, wings, pizza, and plenty of side dishes. This sports bar probably has one of the best menus of all of the sports bars in Youngstown, and not only is the menu large and diverse, but the prices are great, too. They also have a wide range of beers and liquors, so you will be all set on the drink end. The phone number is 330-799-6667.
Gavo's Sports Bar
You can find Gavo's Sports Bar at 3661 Mahoning Ave. in Youngstown. Here you can order everything from a chili dog to a 12-ounce strip steak. They also have your traditional bar food, such as burgers, chili-cheese fries, and wings. Prices are cheap, and most items - with the exception of steak, of course - are under $5. You will also find a solid selection of domestic and imported beers and all of the liquors you could possibly want. This sports bar also has a really great atmosphere. It is just very relaxed, and the staff is always friendly. The phone number is 330-793-2778.

Post a CommentHere's an idea, STAY HOME ! Its a lot cheaper, Your own couch and or chairs. Your own bathroom just in case, and save the chance of a DUI ! Of course this form a person who simply doesnt give a #$%$ about the super bowl anyways.
how about the Ice House? Great food & intertainment, lots of screens
"You can get domestic drafts for a couple bucks".....really? Show me a bar where domestice drafts cost more than a couple of bucks. Go to the ICE HOUSE INN on Route 46 just off of Route 80 before Mineral Ridge. Best atmosphere, most pool tables, and Moosie with a quarter in his ear. Ask him about that one!
The Youngstown Sports Grille is the only place on this list that would be a blast to watch the game!
Royal Oaks !

I can think of several places I would rather go than those mentioned in this article. Buffalo Wild Wings in Austintown Plaza has good food and some great screens. Smokey Bones in Boardman also has good food and again lots of screens. I rather go to Pizza Hut in Austintown than any of the places mentioned in the article. Cheap pizza, cold Pepsi, and a couple of decent screens. My favorite place for the Super Bowl however is.... my family room.... good food, decent screen, a great big recliner, and a remote control to tune out Madonna at half time!
Youngstown still sucks!
