Best Places to Wine and Dine for Valentine's Day in the New Orleans Metro Area

Jennifer O'Reilly
New Orleans has some of the best restaurants around and what better place to be on Valentine's Day than New Orleans. Here are some of my favorite picks for Valentine's Day.

The Melting Pot
The Melting Pot is a U.S. chain restraint, but very good. They have Valentine's Packages ranging from $79.99 to $109.99 (per couple). The packages include four courses: cheese tray, salad, and two different entrées The entrée offered are chicken and a New York Strip Steak. For dessert, a Chocolate Melting Pot is brought to the table with pastries, cakes, and fruit. I would suggest making reservations as this is a very popular place to go on Valentine's Day. Go to www.meltingpot.com for more information for locations near you.

The Nachez Steamboat in New Orleans
The Natchez offers a complete Romantic Dinner Cruise Package. They offer a cruise from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Valentine's Day. The cruse is $70.00 per person. They offer a crab appetizer with crawfish topping for starters and entrees are catfish or blackened pork loin, salad, cheese, mixed vegetables, and for dessert they offer sugar biscuits, Louisiana Shortcake, and White Vanilla Flavored Chocolates. All of the packages come with a complementary glass of Champagne. Reservations are strongly suggested. To make a reservation, please call 504-586-8777. The Natchez Steamboat site is www.steamboatnatchez.com. The cruse offers a unique view of New Orleans from the Mississippi River - it is a sight to see.
