I found the best pool for our needs at our local Family Dollar for $20. It is only 20 inches deep but after the realization that a 26 inch deep pool needs chemicals and filtration, a smaller pool works the best for us. The pool is a Bestway pool that is 103 inches by 69 inches and is 20 inches deep. This is a great pool for young tweens that do not have to go swimming, but will enjoy cooling off and splashing a little. This pool holds 259 gallons of water and can be drained after each use.
Bestway has a round pool that is eight feet and 26 inches deep. It holds a little over 600 gallons of water. The box has a beautiful picture of the pool, but does not show a filtration system nor does the box say how much water the pool holds. This pool costs $30. It is a great price until you find out you have to buy the filtration system for about $80 and chemicals for another $100. This is not a good deal at all! Family Dollar sales this pool.
You can purchase a round pool from Wal-mart that is eight feet and 30 inches deep that comes with a filtration system for $49. If you are going to use a pool that needs a filtration system you might as well purchase a pool that includes it, especially if the complete pool and system cost less than an individual pump and filter.
If you are looking for a smaller pool for under $10, you can find a variety of "kiddie" pools in your price range.
Wal-mart has smaller pools for little ones as well. The prices range from $10 to $30 for plastic pools. I thought this was a little much for a throw away pool that was less than 18 inches deep.
With such good prices at my local Family Dollar, I decided not to waste the gas to search for a less expensive pool. The prices at Family Dollar were great and I have not had any problem with the quality or craftsmanship of the pool.
Family Dollar has a kiddie pool that is 48 inches round and ten inches deep for only $5. This is great for young toddlers and babies. They also have a 60 inch round pool that is ten inches deep for $8. Either pool will provide a summer of enjoyment for a little money.
