Guide to Best Prom Dress Stores in Palm Beach County

Prom Dress Shopping in Palm Beach Gardens/Jupiter

It is almost prom time for you juniors and seniors in high school. There is no need to stress out because you are so close to graduating and your classes are close to being done. The first thing that you need to do when you start thinking about prom is to plan ahead!

The three questions you need to ask are:

1. What day is your prom?

2. How much time do you need to get ready?

3. Are you planning on doing your hair, manicure/pedicure and make-up?

If this is the only prom you attend you don't want another girl to wear the same dress as you, even if you look better in it. There are many stores in Palm Beach County that write down the name of the school and the type of dress bought so that you don't have this problem. A few stores that I've noticed with great prom dresses are.

Teen Heaven

10921 N Military Trl
West Palm Beach, FL 33410

(561) 721-9966

Cache (The Gardens Mall)

3101 PGA Blvd
Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

(561) 626-2628

Nordstrom (The Gardens Mall)

3111 PGA Blvd.

Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

Bebe (The Gardens Mall)

(561) 622-2323

BCBGMaz Azria (The Gardens Mall)

(561) 691-6900

Betsey Johnson (The Gardens Mall)

(561) 775-1060

If you didn't notice a lot of the stores are quite different. Prom has changed, and its not only about the puffy princess dresses that happen to resemble wedding dresses. Be yourself, and be different. After prom you should be starting the next chapter in your life. Why not dare to be different?

The stores that I have suggested are mostly in The Gardens Mall, and that's with good reason. This mall has the best stores to chose from and some stores don't mind writing down your name and what school you go to so that you don't show up to prom with the same dress another girl.

Next, you need to decide exactly what you want to do about your hair, skin and makeup.

1. The first thing that girls do wrong is getting spray tanned for the first time the night of the prom. If you really don't have time to go to the tanning bed for a week or two save yourself the humiliation of looking like and umpa-lume-pa and try different spray tan places before you go.

2. The second thing that you need to do is find a place that does hair and nails so that you can get everything done in one place.

3. If you like the way you do your own make-up going somewhere to get your make-up done is a mistake. Do your make-up yourself. It is also not a bright idea to try and become and make-up artist either. If you've never used fake eye-lashes don't try the night of because it gets messy.

Some places that I recommend for nails and hair:

Chez Cherie

11646 US Highway 1

Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33403

(561) 881-1322

Ask for Dalys to do your nails, and Lindsay for your hair. They are the best ones there, but everyone else can do a great job too!

Sunsets Tanning Salon II

9810 Highway A1a Alt
Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

(561) 776-0006

I certainly have to disagree with the negative comments about Pamela"s. My experience was very joyful for my daughter and myself. Pamela made sure that my daughter bought the right dress and looked well in it. I will glady go back again and recommend this store to anyone

I too had a terrible experience in Pamela's. I came down to West Palm looking for a prom dress with my parents and my grandmother and I have never been treated so terribly. I dont believe Pamela was the woman working in the shop that day. However, her employee insisted on yelling at my dad "whats your price whats your price?!" and she refused to help any further until my dad gave her a price. She reminded us multiple times that we had 15 minutes till the shopped closed but did it with a nasty tone. My mother became very upset when the woman asked me to undress and then proceeded to tell me that she would be putting the dress on me and i could only wear underwear and my mom could not help under any circumstance. After that my mother made a few remarks of her own and we left very quickly. Neither of my parents were happy when we left and although the dresses were nice they definitly were not worth all the aggressivness towards shoppers. I would highly reccomend to avoid this store at al

My daughter and her friend were in Pamela's dresses and had the worst experience ever. Pamela was rude and condescending and the girls had driven from Boca Raton with our credit cards and carte blanche to buy prom dresses. I am absolutely appalled at the way they were treated. The sales girls were very nice, but apparently Pamela was so rude that they called me immediately after their experience almost in tears. Plus, my daughter said that the dresses were full of snags and Pamela kept telling them that they could not continue trying on dresses if other customers came in. There were only 2 more people in the store and our girls were there to buy 2 dresses. I would NEVER buy anything from this woman, I don't know how she is still in business. I am sure not for long....
