Best Rapper Alive: Weird Al Yankovic

C.B. Jones
Two things are certain when it comes to rap. Every mixtape you ever hear will feature a verse with someone rhyming hood with good. Also, all rappers are extremely boastful. Ask any rapper who the the best is, and they will probably point at themselves. The following article will map out why Weird Al deserves to hold the crown.

What's Beef?
Al Yankovic single-handedly dismantled the once lavish career of West coast rapper, Coolio. After Amish Paradise, and Coolio's needless whining about being parodied by a superior emcee, his career was pretty much over with. Messing with Weird Al is like Superman licking a Kryptonite lollipop.

Weird Al is still making albums, and Coolio has an internet cooking show or something. Obviously the entire rap community took note of this one sided battle. If Weird Al wants to parody one of your songs, you should take it as a complement and moved on. Complaining about being made fun of will only serve to speed up your impending retirement from the rap game.

Too Diverse.
Not only is all the best rapper alive, but he's also one of the top 100 vocalists of all time. For what he lacks in "overall singing ability," he more than makes up for in "writing circles around anybody out now" ability. Rhyming words over someone elses rap song is only a small part of his skill set.

someone so in tune to the art of writing songs is rare. Al Yankovic should be considered a national treasure for his many talents. In this hostile and crazy world we live in right now, I feel there's need for a new version of "We Are the World." Weird Al is more than capable of writing a touching, yet amusing song to bring everyone together.

He's the Style Changer.
Al Yankovic is the Chameleon of the music industry. As the the times change, so to does he. Perhaps this is to be expected though. I mean ,he's a comedian. It's a lot easier for people of his ilk to stay relevant than your average rapper. Think about it.

A lot of rappers tend to back themselves into a corner by presenting themselves as just being one particular thing. Some want to be gangsta, others want to party all the time like Eddie Murphy said, and others are fine just complaining about not being popular. Weird Al avoids such trappings, and has cemented his spot by being multifaceted.
