Best Restaurants for a Romantic Evening in the Triangle of North Carolina

With a couple of different locations in the Triangle, North Carolina area, the Melting Pot makes an ideal location for a romantic evening. One location is in North Raleigh and the other is near Southpoint in Durham. Both offer similar atmospheres and pricing. The dim lights and booth environment make quiet conversation extremely easy. I have never seen children there on any visit, so adults can quietly contemplate their relationship without disruptions that are often seen in other restaurants. Since the Melting Pot serves fondue, the servers are less obvious than they are at some other restaurants, and dinner takes a longer time. However, this does not mean that they are altogether absent. Bogart's

Bogart's is an upscale restaurant in downtown Raleigh that provides a nice location for a romantic evening on the town. The atmosphere is a bit noisier than The Melting Pot, but still calm and relaxed. With a wide variety of reasonably priced food to choose from, Bogart's allows people with different tastes the opportunity to dine happily. The wait staff is a bit more intensive than at The Melting Pot, and often checks up on diners, but can be told easily to step aside if you prefer less precise service but better romance. Although the live jazz band plays only at Sunday brunch, gentle music keeps this atmosphere extremely romantic every night of the week. Please note that Bogart's also offers "Late Night fun" on certain days, and the atmosphere changes dramatically after 10 pm. They also charge a $5 cover charge for these events. If you are looking for a truly romantic evening out, it might be best to go prior to this on nights in which these events occur.

Ruth's Chris Steak House

If you are looking for something relaxed and fun, while not skimping on a romantic atmosphere, Ruth's Chris Steak House is a great place to go in the Triangle of North Carolina. Often touted as a good place for business dinners because of the quiet atmosphere that permits easy conversation, as well as their superb private dining options, Ruth's Chris also makes a great romantic getaway. Obviously, steak is a specialty here, but they also offer other options. Dinner can be pricey, but not absurdly so. In addition, Ruth's Chris offers certain specials at certain times of the year. Most notably, they offer a prom night special that is extremely reasonably priced for more upscale dining on such a special night. Reservations are highly recommended, as Ruth's Chris can fill up quickly for these romantic nights.
