When you first arrive at the theme park, you might want to exercise that Fast Pass right away. Head over to Disney-MGM Studios' two exciting thrill rides, which are located right next to one another off of Sunset Boulevard. The first is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. You will board a stretch limo (this vehicle gives new meaning to the term), and shoot around an indoor track while jamming to the sounds of one of America's most famous and enduring rock and roll bands - Aerosmith, of course. The entire ride is wild and enhanced by the fact that it takes place in the pitch dark. The wait at this ride is often an hour or more, so be sure to use your fast pass, or bring along an iPod filled with Aerosmith tunes to pass the time.
Next door is the terrifying Hollywood Hills Hotel, otherwise known as The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This is more than just a horrifying free-fall. You will randomly drop thirteen full stories, mostly in the dark. Meanwhile, you will have to contend with ghosts of past residents, and the blood-curdling screams of your fellow guests. This is another Disney-MGM Studios ride that is a favorite among visitors to the park, so be sure to Fast Pass it early and often, or else prepare to wait. But try not to wait too long; you just might lose your nerve.
As for shows, at Disney-MGM Studios theme park, there are plenty. Be sure to check out the Voyage of The Little Mermaid. This live, musical show lasts seventeen minutes, and every second is more dazzling than the next. A beautiful theater and elaborate stage set the scene for brilliant live action mixed with song and animation from the ever-popular film. This show runs continuously throughout the day, and it may be Fast Passed.
Disney-MGM Studios also offers two thrilling stunt shows - Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show and Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! You will not want to miss either of these dazzling demonstrations, so be sure to fit them into your schedule.
Whatever you do during the day, be sure to end it with Fantasmic! This is a nighttime spectacular with lights and lasers, dancing water and amazing special effects that you will have to see in order to believe. The show lasts only twenty-five minutes, but seating begins ninety minutes early. And you would do well to get there as soon as seating begins. This show just about always fills up fast!
