Ready to get soaked? I mean, really drenched? Sopping wet? Head over to Journey to Atlantis. This is more than just a thrilling water ride. Sea World tells a story of the lost city of Atlantis, complete with mermaids, monsters, and stormy weather. It's a mystical place, dark and enchanting. And then get ready to drop. A steep fall into the depths, where all riders get really, really wet. And just when you think it's over, you'll drop again.
If you like roller coasters, you will love the Kraken. Inspired by the mythical monster of the sea, the Kraken a floorless mega-coaster with more loops than I could count. Prepare to flip, fly, and soar over Orlando in this monster of a coaster.
Complete with haunting music, Shark Encounter really delivers. You will see up close - maybe too close! - sharks, moray eels, and barracudas that might just give you a chill down the spine.
For an encounter of the, well, cuter kind, check out the Penguin Encounter, where you will meet penguins and alcid of all shapes and sizes.
The Wild Arctic is a wild flight simulator, where you will see arctic animals in their natural habitats. The flight simulator is followed by a walking tour through a polar bear exhibit.
Of course, no visit to Sea World in Orlando is complete without a visit to Shamu Stadium to see a live performance. The show, called Believe, will cause your spirits to soar and your heart to leap. The show typically lasts thirty minutes and can be seen three times a day at one, three, and six-thirty.
Other attractions you will not want to miss include: the Manatee Rescue; the dolphin, stingray and turtle exhibits at Key West; the sea lions and seals at Pacific Point Preserve; and pearl diving at Oyster's Secret.
Some rides and attractions at Sea World in Orlando do cost extra, so bring along some spare cash and check out: the paddle boats ($6 per thirty minutes); Xtreme Zone, where you will find trampolines and rock-climbing ($7 each or $10 for both); and the 400 foot observation deck known as Sky Tower ($3).
Other shows include: Blue Horizons, Clyde and Seamore, Odyssea, Pets Ahoy!, Elmo and the Bookaneers; Brewmaster's Club; Sizzlin' Pianos, and Groove Chefs.
