Chick flicks are great movie not only for "chicks" but for everyone. Most so called chick flicks have a romantic base that attracts mainly women to watch love play out on screen. The following are the best five romantic films of 2008.

P.S. I Love You

It's tragically romantic. It breaks your heart and then remolds it making you believe in love all over again. You really jump on board with Hillary Swank and root for her to follow the love notes of her former lover in an attempt to find someone to replace the void left when he died. It's a beautiful film but be prepared with tissues because you will cry and that will happen more than once.

Definitely Maybe

It's charming and witty in its own way, plus it is very common. This is a real story of how someone can go from one person to another and then wonder how they got where they did and why they are the way they are. The fact that all of this is a fun little tale to a man's daughter about which one is her mom makes it all that much more darling. You will find that you can relate to the various situations and relationships he has been in and find humor in each one as well as heartbreak.

Sex and the City The Movie

It's way better than the series ever was. You want so badly for Carrie to get her happy ending and then when things go bad they go really bad. Again you can find yourself identifying with one woman or another and follow their emotional journey through love and life as you laugh and cry. A great chick flick for all.

Nights in Rodanthe

The old Nicholas Sparks novel does it again. First he brought tears to our eyes with The Notebook, now he tears at our heartstrings with another tear jerker. This follows two broken people at odds with their own personal demons and trying to move on. They meet, help one another heal and fall in love. The setting is beautiful, the words poetic and Diane Lane's acting is incredible. Well worth two hours of your time.

27 Dresses

It's the funniest romantic film of the year and makes you just want to jump for joy at the end. It has all the right elements and was perfectly cast. Every woman has had these feelings when going to weddings and wondering when their special day would come. A class act hit!

I love writing. I write about anything and everything, basically whatever is on my mind at the time and sometimes it can be very emotionally charged....  View profile

Nope. No chick flicks for me. I might write one someday but I'll never watch another...regardless of the trip.
