Running is a great way to experience the great outdoors and to promote excellent heart health. So what are you waiting for? Get out an explore the following areas today!

Miami Springs: Miami Springs has about 8 miles of running and biking paths available to the public. These paths are made of asphalt. The path runs along the Miami River, and you'll come across a variety of wildlife including turtles, tropical birds, and iguanas. Manatees and alligators have been known to lurk in the water, so keep an eye out for them! Try running during dusk or dawn to experience amazingly beautiful sunsets and sunrises. There's several convenience stores that you will come across in case you need a bathroom or water break.

Everglades National Park: About 40 miles south of Miami lies the Everglades National Park. Home to tons of different swamp creatures, the trails here are sure to please even a beginner. The trails are on Long Pine Key, and there are two of them. Varying from 4 miles to almost 15 miles, you will need to choose how long you plan on running for before starting your exercise adventure. There's tons of deer and rare birds on the trails, so keep an eye out. Make sure to bring plenty of water, because it is not provided on the trails. Also make sure to bring TONS of mosquito repellent!

Metro Path: Looking for a more civilized run? Try running under the Metrorail! The trail is made from concrete, and it is safe for running during day or not due to the Metro security always being on the clock. If you prefer a more natural run, just step off the sidewalk and into the grass. The trail starts in South Miami and ends in Midtown, providing 7-8 miles worth of a good run. Looking for eye candy while you run? I mean, you live in MIAMI! There's tons to look at! The trail spikes off into Key Biscayne where there are several more beach paths for running and biking, a national park, and beach water to refresh yourself with. The best part? You don't have to drive to get there! Just hop on the Metrorail!
