10 Best Bullock Movies

Sandra Bullock is one of those leading actresses like Meg Ryan who usually appears authentic on screen, a real person just like the rest of us. I must admit the first time I saw Bullock was when she play opposite Stallone in "Demolition Man" and I thought she looked plastic; literally like one of those marionette puppets from the old movies. Anyway, she's great looking now. Here are ten of her best movies (my opinion of course)...

The Blind Side (2009) is the "surprise" blockbuster based on the true story of NFL player Michael Oher and the wealthy family that took him in when he was a teen. Powerful Christian believers, the Tuohys helped Michael journey from troubled youth to a man of character.

About the Tuohys Bullock said "I finally met people who walk the walk." Remember that the Tuohys are wealthy people and during the past 20 years Bullock has associated mostly with wealthy people; it's great she's finally met wealthy people who are authentic Christians.

The Proposal (2009) is about an ambitious and aggressive bossy Canadian lady (Bullock) who corners her assistant into marriage so that she can remain in the United States. The fun really begins when the couple flies to the fella's hometown in Alaska to meet his family.

Is Betty White great or what? Is she an eternal grandma?

Premonition (2007) is a different twist on Groundhog Day in which Bullock as a housewife learns of her husband's future death and tries to avert it. It's interesting.

The Lake House (2006) is a weird time warp love-letter romance sort of thing. It should have been called "The Mailbox" but it wasn't.

Two Weeks Notice (2002) stars Bullock as a hard-core environmental attorney who goes to work for irresponsible billionaire playboy Hugh Grant. You can imagine the conflicts and antics that transpire.

Miss Congeniality (2000) stars Bullock as an undercover FBI agent who enters a Beauty Pageant so that she can avert the murder of one of the pageant participants. This one was really funny.

Hope Floats (1998) is one of those tear-jerking chick flicks we hear so much about. Believe me, there are some tear gushing scenes. You know, the kind where you chuckle a bit so no one will know you're actually crying.

Bullock plays a woman who takes her young daughter and returns to her small hometown after leaving her abusive and cheating husband. While living with her mother she meets Harry Connick Jr's character and she cautiously begins a relationship with her as she tries to rebuild life for herself and her daughter.

While You Were Sleeping (1995) gave further impetus to Bullock's career. She's a Chicago subway token gal who saves a man after he falls onto the tracks; the man whom she's admired from a distance for a long time. At the hospital the man's family mistakes her for his girlfriend and then the fun begins and it's great fun too.

The Net (1995) is about a professional software debugger who stumbles upon an imbedded virus that will give a software mogul unimaginable power. With her "identity" taken from her and her every move watched by a hit-man, she's almost alone as she tries to foil the evil plot.

Speed (1994) was Bullock's first big hit and helped propel her to superstardom. She's a woman (who's trying to get her driver license) who finds herself trapped on a booby-trapped city bus and furthermore after the driver is killed she ends up behind the wheel. The trouble is if the bus drops below a certain speed limit; the lights go out for everyone on board. Keanu Reeves stars as the SWAT guy who must rescue Bullock and the bus.

Sandra Bullock also played excellent supporting roles in such good movies as Crash and Infamous.
