Best Seller Book Review: Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich

Fearless Fourteen is the 14^th book in the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. All of the books from this series have topped the New York Times Bestseller list. If you haven't experienced Janet Evanovich books, let me tell you a little something about her. When asked what she reads, she mentioned Betty and Veronica and Donald Duck comic books. This tells you a lot about the quirky author of the Stephanie Plum series.

Needless to say, when you read a book by an author who mentions comic books among her favorite reading, you are in for a ride. In the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series, the author has fun and so does the reader. Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter with a crazy grandmother, crazy sidekick and a lover with another hopeful always hovering around. Then, add to this mix the characters she chases as a bounty hunter and you have a fun, zany, quirky, sexy mystery.

And in case you're wondering if you have to start with the first book and read them in order, don't worry about it. I have read four now, none of them in order and I enjoyed every one of them. It's light reading with laughs and intrigue. There is no need to get caught up in clues, story line or back story because it's the flavor of the perky author's writing that appeals to readers.

For years there have been rumors that the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series will be made into a movie. When the author was asked who she sees as Stephanie Plum, she said Sandra Bullock. I have to whole-heartedly agree. Sandra makes a perfect Stephanie Plum.

I enjoyed Fearless Fourteen just as much as the rest of the books I've read in the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series. I was left with a desire for closure on Lulu's planned wedding in this book but I figure Janet planned to elaborate on it in her next book. The series isn't quite my taste even though I do enjoy reading one of them once in a while. So for this best seller book review, I give Fearless Fourteen and actually all of the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum Series, an 8.5 out of ten points.
