A story about a girl who is seeking to be betrothed to highly regarded man who turns out to be a ninja! Unfortunately, he wants nothing to do with marriage and she is determined to make herself a worth ninja to win a place in his heart. Little does she know that she has already won him from the beginning. Fun, entertaining, and a great romance read; this is a definite must for all shoujo fans.
Stepping On Roses by Rinko Ueda
With a plot garnished with Victorian flair and an art style that is breathtakingly beautiful, one cannot help not putting this book down! A girl decides she needs to help support her growing family and is offered by a handsome stranger to be his bride. Turns out he is supposedly just using her to maintain his share of the family fortune - or is he? Could it be that he really does love her? This is definitely one of my favorite mangas and will sure to be yours too.
Wanted by Matsuri Hino
Although this manga is only one volume long, it is still filled with action, comedy, and of course romance. A young girl goes to seek out her long lost lover who had been taken captive by pirates. She boards the ship disguised as a boy to seek him out. Her identity is discovered by the crew and captain, who turns out to be her vanished lover! The tension and chemistry makes the read all more exciting, and the comic humor makes me so glad that the author will be coming out with a sequel!
Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino
With the latest hype of vampires and the supernatural (due to the success of Twilight and Vampire Diaries), this manga series is sure to be a thriller. It has already been awarded for best shoujo manga and its popularity continues to grow. The main girl is a human and is stuck in a love triangle between the leading vampire and a vampire hunter, both which just happen to be really good looking and endearing toward her. Who will she end up choosing? Or is it not left up to her to choose who she should love? This is one of those where you will be eagerly waiting to read the next volume.
