Best Singles Trips for Women in North Carolina

You Don't Need a Man!

Iva Gutowski
I know ladies don't like to do anything alone. Women even flock to the bathroom together. However, if can be both refreshing and empowering to venture out on a trip on your own. With no one else to please and accommodate on a trip for single women, it can be an opportunity to crack out of that shell and have a fun night out on the town.

The first place I would recommend is Wilmington, North Carolina. There are several tour bus agencies that make daily trips to Wilmington if you don't want to drive. There is also an airport if you decide to fly. Wilmington is a large historic city with a touch of old mixed in with contemporary fun. You can go shopping in multiple stores, malls, and tourist shops during the day, only to go out dancing at a club or dining at a fine restaurant at night. If you want to switch it up, you can go to the beach for a sunrise or sunset. Wilmington has a very beautiful coastline and well maintained beach. If you decide you don't want to leave alone, you're sure to meet someone here. Before leaving check out the Battleship North Carolina museum. It's an old Navy ship from World War II.

The second place to recommend is Asheville, North Carolina. Asheville is in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. With too many museums, national parks and tourist attractions to mention, several days are definitely needed. You can hike through the mountains during the day, and go to a drum sitting at night. A drum sitting is where local musicians play various instruments together and make up their own music at random. There are multiple theatres in the area where new and local screenwriters and actors produce their own plays and movies. These are cheaper than normal theatres, but with a personal touch. Additionally, there are always street festivals in action where you can purchase handmade lotions, crafts and food.

The last place in North Carolina that I'd recommend for a great trip for single women is Raleigh, North Carolina. Raleigh is located in the North Carolina Research Triangle and is the state's capitol. It is home to several major Universities including the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC-State, and Duke University. In a college town there is always something fun to do! Lots of singles are available in this area if you still don't want to go home alone! Various museums and monuments are frequented everyday and there is an amazing I-MAX theatre located here. In the evening you can visit one of the many bars or fine restaurants to end a great day.

Hopefully if you are a single woman wanting to venture out on your own, you will try one or all of the above trip suggestions. They are wonderful cities with wonderful histories that are just waiting to be explored. If you have several days, you can visit them all. Most importantly, pamper yourself and don't forget that you don't need someone with you to have a great time. Enjoy yourself and be safe!
