Best Sites for Valentine's Day Crafts for Kids

Wendy King
Whether it's a gift for their teacher or cards to exchange with their friend, your kids will probably have to have some kind of Valentine's this year. It is easy to just run to the local Wal-Mart and buy a box of pre-made cards. If you want to really get your kids involved why not do a Valentine's day craft with them?

The internet is full of fun crafts for kids to do for Valentine's day. Whether it's just coloring a picture, making a butterfly from hearts, or making valentine's instead of buying them, there is something out there for everyone. So, we will explore the best sites for Valentine's day crafts.

DLTK (www.dltk-holidays.com/valentines)

DLTK is by far one of my favorite sites for crafts for any season and Valentine's day is no exception. They have a great variety of unique crafts for children of all ages. Your child can make an adorable candy bar butterfly using paper and a real candy bar. This would make a great alternative to those pre-made cards in the store. Or maybe your trying to think of something to give the kids at church for Valentines. DLTK has a great selection of religious Valentine's crafts including a L O V E wall hanging and angel paper crafts. Many of the projects on this site have templates that make it even easier to have some craft fun with your child.

ENCHANTED LEARNING (www.enchantedlearning.com/crafts/valentine)

Enchanting Learning is another great site for crafts. They have a wide variety of crafts perfect for Valentine's Day. Their site features many different templates for making your own Valentine's cards to give out. They also have Valentine's coupons that kids can make. These coupons can be for everything from cleaning their rooms to giving mom a big hug. This site also has an abundance of Valentine's worksheets that would be perfect for a teacher who is looking for something fun to do with their class.

FAMILYFUN.COM (www.familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts)

FamilyFun.com is a great site with a variety of Valentine's activities. From adorable heart shaped glasses, to sweet hearts cards made with paper and pixie sticks, this site has something for everyone! They even have how-to videos to make crafts even easier to do. There are even craft ideas for mom, dad, and even the grandparents. FamilyFun.com also has recipes for cupcakes and ideas for a great Valentine's day party.

DANIELLE'S PLACE (www.daniellesplace.com/html/valentine.html)

Danielle's place definitely has the most unique cards that kids can make for Valentine's Day. From the adorable puppy love card with candy coming out of the puppy's mouth to the "You're Moovalous" 3D card, there are some very unique cards on this site. Your child can also make an adorable heart banner, which would be perfect décor for a Valentine's party. Some of the crafts on Danielle's place do require that you be a member, but there are also plenty of fun, free crafts.

KID'S DOMAIN (www.kidsdomain.com/craft/_Val.html)

Kid's Domain has some unique crafts for children of all ages. Their site features a rating system to let parents know how difficult a project will be. You and your child can make yummy looking chocolate heart candies or a craft stick jewelry box. Maybe your daughter has a best friend that she'd like to give a special gift to for Valentine's Day. The Love-ly Valentine's Day Notebook would make a great gift! If it's a gift for the teacher you are looking for, why not try the coffee can card holder? There are so many unique crafts on this site! Most of these crafts are geared toward older children, so if your kids are young you may try one of the other sites mentioned in this article.

These sites are just a sampling of what the internet has to offer when it comes to Valentine's Day crafts for your kids. So, why not let your child pull up a chair next to you at the computer and explore the fun crafts they can make this Valentine's Day season. Not only will you end up with great Valentine's projects, but also you will build memories. Happy Valentine's Day!

My kids love the Kids Craft of the Month Club. They get TWO craft kits each month in the mail along with other fun surprises like stickers and games and toys. It is very reasonably priced and it is so convenient. I don't have to run around looking for supplies, because it all comes together in the kit. I can spend some real quality time with my children!! The website is www.KidsCraftoftheMonthClub.com. They have free craft projects on their site too!!
