Best Snack Foods to Serve at a Bridal Shower

Kristen May
Although just about any food can be served at a bridal shower, there are a number of items that work especially well with the most popular color schemes and themes at bridal showers. Full of pastel colors, opportunities to make pretty flowers on food items, and delicious gourmet treats, these snack foods are all sure to please guests.

Best Bridal Shower Snack Foods: Deviled Eggs

A classic finger food at just about any party, deviled eggs work great at bridal showers as well. If you have patience peeling hard boiled eggs, you should be able to make a large batch of these without too much trouble. If you want to be really fancy about it, you can make "flowers" on top of the eggs by mixing in some food coloring with the last little bit of the yolk mixture and using a fancy tip on your pastry bag.

Best Bridal Shower Snack Foods: Kettle Corn

Popcorn is a great food for a bridal shower because it is white and fluffy, fitting well into the whole wedding feel. However, girls tend to like things sweet, so making kettle corn is a good way to dress up this common food. You can actually homemake it just by melting some sugar and a little salt and butter with popcorn kernels in a large pot with a lid and popping it on your stove.

Best Bridal Shower Snack Foods: Strawberry Shortcake

Many bridal showers are in the prime strawberry season, so strawberry shortcake is a delicious dessert. You can either serve it on angel food cake, dessert cups, or larger homemade shortcake. All you need to do to prepare it is to cut up a lot of strawberries into chunks, and then to put them on top of shortcake with some whipped cream on top. It is a decadent dessert, full of the colors of love and weddings: red and white.

Best Bridal Shower Snack Foods: Miniature Crepes

If you are looking for ways to incorporate your bridal shower colors into the foods, one flexible way to do that is to make interesting fillings for miniature crepes. Of course, you will need miniature crepes to put these fillings in, so just make up a batch or two of crepe batter and then fry them into crepes about 3 inches in diameter (careful when putting these in the pan - a tablespoon of batter per crepe will be plenty). With a couple pans full of these going at once, it should not take too long to make them, and you will be busy flipping the whole time.

For the crepe fillings, just about anything will work, both savory and sweet. For purple bridal showers, make up a warm blueberry and cream cheese filling. Orange bridal showers can use chopped peaches or other fruit, or cheddar cheese. Green bridal showers can have a savory filling of cooked spinach and caramelized onion. Foods come in just about every color, so get creative and you are sure to think of something to put in a crepe that comes in that color!
