Best Soaps for Sensitive Skin

When you have sensitive skin not just any soap will do. I used to buy whatever soap was on sale, but I quickly learned that the savings was not worth the discomfort I experienced later.

I did benefit, however, from buying whatever soap was on sale. It gave me an opportunity to try out the variety of soaps available. Based on my experience I have come up with a list of the best soaps for sensitive skin.

Caress

I found that most Caress bar soaps were gentle enough for me to use. I really like the soft smell of the Caress soaps and the bars last a long time.

Although the body washes are fairly gentle I did get a little irritation from them. The bar soaps, however, left me free of any itching, dryness, or burning.

Safeguard

Safeguard is another one of the best soaps for sensitive skin. Safeguard comes in regular white soap and beige. I recommend the white soap simply because it has a more pleasant scent.

I grew up using Safeguard white soap and it has always been gentle on my skin.

Oil of Olay

Although Oil of Olay is more expensive than some of the other soaps listed here; I still feel it is one of the best soaps for sensitive skin.

It has a wonderful silky smell and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. Usually a soap that has as much fragrance as this irritates my skin. Oil of Olay does not. I do, however, only use the regular Oil of Olay bar soap. I try to stay away from body washes as much as possible.

Ivory

I believe Ivory is one of the best soaps for sensitive skin as well. I buy it more often than the other soaps because it is just as gentle, has a nice delicate fragrance, leaves my skin feeling soft, and is very inexpensive. I pay about $1.60 for a package of three bars.

Dove

I have been pleased with every Dove soap product I have ever purchased. All of their products work great and are very gentle. I love the smell of Dove soaps and the fact that the bar soap doesn't break down in the shower as quickly as others.

Regular Dove bar soap doesn't cause any irritation or dryness. It is definitely one of the best soaps for sensitive skin that I have tried.

It doesn't take much to irritate my skin, so I've carefully chosen soaps I know I can trust. If you have sensitive skin I would recommend any of the soaps listed above.

There are also soaps that can be found at natural markets such as Whole Foods that are made from all natural organic ingredients that also work great if you have sensitive skin.

But if you don't live near a natural market or you want options that you're familiar with try the five soaps listed above, they're the best soaps for sensitive skin.
