Best Songs to Belt Out II

The Men

J Gorman
We've got our female mix created and down. Maybe you're bored with the same six songs (although I don't quite see how). Or maybe you're a guy and you don't like the girl power theme. Don't fret, I've got a mix for the showering guy as well.

Bruce Chanel - Hey Baby

Maybe I've just been conditioned to love this song. Penn State football can do that to a person. And at least you won't have 100,000 other drunken folk trying to screw you up. In any case, I strongly believe in this song's ability to be sung. So sing it.

The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup

The most important thing to remember for this one is to perfect the first note because it sets the tone for the entire song. You've got to really let go, though. But it's better by yourself because if you happen to get it spot on, you can hold it out longer, and not miss the rest of the sentence. It's a great song for expanding your vocal chords, too. Sing it to work on your range.

Journey - Don't Stop Believin'

I'm not sure if there is any mix to sing along to that doesn't include Journey at least once. One of, if not the best tunes from them. It's my personal pick for karaoke, too. Keep it in mind next time you're at a bar. It really gets the crowd going, so it doesn't even matter what you sound like, because everyone is singing it along with you. Maybe you'll even \get to go after that weird guy who goes by himself to sing Air Supply and take over for anyone who has left.

John Cougar Mellencamp - Jack and Diane

I always mix his name up with the songs he was singing during what era, etc. But no matter what he was calling himself, this song is perfect to sing while showering. Or in the car. Most of these can go either way. If you're really feeling it, it might even be fun to sing out as loud as you care whilst walking down the street. Maybe someone would join in.

Ben E. King - Stand By Me

We all need to wind down. But we can still sing loudly while doing it. And who doesn't want to sing "Stand By Me"? It's actually pretty perfect for rinsing off. It's good crooning practice. And hey, maybe it will even remind you of the movie Stand By Me and bring a tear to your eye. It's okay, you're in the shower, it'll wash right away and no one will know.

Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl

Alright, so the eighties were kind of popular for good singing songs. I had a hard time choosing a song to close out this showering selection, but I finally made my decision. The great thing about this song is you can change the name, and it wouldn't even be hard to come up with your own lyrics, too. Whose girl do you really wish you had?
