1- Mama's Song
This song hit home to me because I am twenty years old and I'm reaching an age where I will be setting off on my own. I know that my parents worry about my future and just want me to be happy. This song is coming from a girl to her mom, telling her that she has found a great guy who loves her and will take care of her. She is letting her mom know that this guy is good and there is no need to worry anymore because he's the one she loves and he treats her right.
2- Temporary Home
The first time I heard this song, I had tears in my eyes because it was sad, but also happy and beautiful. The song first talks about a child who is an orphan and has never had a real home, then it goes on to talk about a mother who is on her own with her baby girl and has nowhere to go, but hopes to find a real home one day. The song then goes to an older man who is dying in the hospital, but he tells his family that he is going home, to his real home, which I know is Heaven. The song is a beautiful depiction of how earth is really just a temporary home for all of us, and those who believe that Jesus died for us will be going to our real home in Heaven one day.
3- Look At Me
I mentioned this song in another one of my writings about the best country love songs. This song is beautiful and talks about the way you feel when the person you love looks at you, and when you look back at them. It's in their eyes and their smile, the way they care about you, and it's something to live for.
4- What Can I Say
This song also hits home for me because I have dated a guy off and on for five years, and I know that during the times we were off it was hard and I missed him and thought about him but I still made mistakes and I thought it was over. Once we started talking again and trying to work things out, he told me that he had thought about me every day but he didn't call me because he was trying to move on. However, we both had saved all of the letters from each other over the years, and now can look back at the times we've been through, both good and bad.
5- Play On
The words to this song inspire me to live my life and never give up. It talks about how things end and there are hard things to go through in life, but you have to push and "play on". Never give up and don't worry when you make mistakes, because you can always keep on going.

Post a CommentKatie, Those are my favorite songs on the album also. I am so happy you like Temporary Home and understood the meaning of the song. Some have reviewed it and said it was about homeless people--and I know they could not have listened to the whole song. Love your analysis of the songs. Right on!!!!
