This is not the type of article that will detail how to become the next Best New Source. Rather, it is meant as my way of saying thank you to the many people who were instrumental in making my winning of this award become a reality.
First, I would like to dedicate this award to my beautiful and lovely wife. Recently, we celebrated our twenty year anniversary. Each year, this date serves as a reminder of the best decision I have ever made. This wonderful woman has always been true to her vows and I love her with all of my heart. She is the best wife and the best friend a man could ever hope to have in his life. So I say to Mrs. Meegerin, thank you. Without you in my life, this article would not be written.
Next, I want to thank all of my fellow Associated Content Sources that saw fit to publicly nominate me for the Best New Source Award. Each Source was unique in the manner in which they expressed their support for me. Therefore, from the depths of my heart, I thank the following Sources: Crystal Ray, Someones Sister, L.L. Woodard, Tamara L. Waters, Angel Vee, Dan Reveal, Khalia Bentson, Magena Fawn, Cathy A. Montville, R. Elizabeth C. Kitchen (Rose), Janet Hunt, Justice Lives Not, Secretsides, Jan Peterson, Lori Beeler, Tricia Goss and Sean Easley.
AC Brenna in her article indicated that numerous Sources nominated me via email. For those of you who nominated me via email, including Meg C., I send my sincerest gratitude to you as well.
As some of you are aware, I recently kicked off of a tour of introducing and interviewing various Sources on Associated Content. I have enjoyed this series immensely and I hope you have too. I initiated these introductions and interviews with Crystal Ray's Introduction and Crystal Ray's Interview , as a means to mark her milestone of reaching 10 million page views with Associated Content. Someone with her stature could have had her pick of the litter in determining with whom she would grant an interview. Therefore, I appreciate that Crystal allowed me to carry out this role. I know I appreciated learning more about this prolific Associated Content Source. I hope you did too. I was also flattered that AC Darnell chose to provide links to these pieces on the Associated Content Blog.
The tour continued, making the folowing stops: Jan Peterson's Intro and Interview, Janet Hunt's Intro and Interview, Meg C.'s Intro and Interview, Dan Reveal's Intro and Interview, Justice Lives Not's Intro and Interview, Sean Easley's Intro and Interview and Tamara Water's Intro and Interview. All of these Associated Content Sources showed much wisdom and displayed tremendous depth of character in their interviews. I am sure that the readers of these articles gained as much as I did.
For those of you that have enjoyed this series of introductions and interviews of your peers, I have good news. I have lined up a number of other Sources that have agreed to allow me to introduce and interview them. Stay tuned, because I know we are all going to be in for a real special treat. If you are an Associated Content Source that would like to be interviewed or know a Source that you would like to recommend to me for a future interview, please send me a message so I coordinate the details.
In May, Associated Content's own Source, Pamela Gifford began her Best of AC Creative Writing and Slideshows series of articles. I am indebted to Pam for featuring a piece of mine in her article, Pamela's Best of AC Creative Writing and Slideshows for April of 2009 and in her article, Pamela's Best of AC Creative Writing and Slideshows for May of 2009. The pieces of mine that she selected were: A Barber, a Barbershop and a Head Filled with Memories and Strange Times at Associated Content.
I want to say thank you to Angel Vee. In addition to her ongoing support and multiple nominations of me for Best New Source, she went out of her way and penned this article, Han Van Meegerin for Best of AC for May . If you have not read it yet, I hope you will.
Many thanks are in also order for Crystal Ray, one of the legends on Associated Content. She too has provided me with ongoing support and encouragement. She was also one of those Sources that nominated me on multiple occasions for the Best New Source. In addition, she took time out her schedule to interview me in this article, An Interview with Han Van Meegerin. Please read it if you have not done so already.
Lastly, I want to thank all the readers of my articles, for without you there would be no reason to celebrate this festive occasion. So whether you have read all of my pieces, some of my work or just a few select articles, I thank you all just the same. I especially say thank you to those of you that have left comments on my articles. Regardless of how many comments that you may have posted as an individual, I have enjoyed reading all of them collectively.
So in summation, you can see that this not a how to win the Best New Source Award. Rather, this article shows that I was not alone in winning this award. Many people were at work behind the scenes, reaching out and providing assistance to a New Source that was trying to find his way on Associated Content. It was because of this collective effort that I was able to win the Best New Source Award for June of 2009.This is just a sampling of some of the Sources that provided assistance and encouragement to me behind the scenes: Lori Beeler, Meg C., Linda Cole, Langley Cornwell, Sean Easley, Pamela Gifford, Carly Hart, Janet Hunt, Justice Lives Not, CJ Mathis, Nikki, Donald Pennington, Crystal Ray, Dan Reveal, R. Elizabeth C. Kitchen (Rose), theBarefoot, Angel Vee, Tamara L. Waters and Theresa Wisa. I apologize if I missed anyone. It is hard to keep track of everything. Again, I say thank you to each and every one of you.
