Many basketball fans choose to root for their favorite team in a sports bar rather than harm. In Dallas, Texas, a city with a team in every major professional sport, sports bars are easy to find. Here is a list of 10 favorites for the sports enthusiast or for the person that just wants a rowdy, sporty atmosphere.

Buffalo Wild Wings

The Buffalo Wild Wings Restaurants are of chain of eateries located coast-to-coast that specialize in wings. All of the locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex offer multiple TV screens. However, not all of them offer high definition viewing. The location that offers high-definition screen that I frequent is on Lemmon Avenue in the Uptown area of Dallas. They offer daily drink specials, as well as specials for wings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Restaurant hours vary by location. Champps

Champps is an establishment that has various locations in the Metroplex. The menu offers anything from pastas to hamburgers and even soups and salads. This is an upscale type of sports bar. There are many beers sold on tap as well as a fully stocked bar. Our favorite location is at 855 West John Carpenter Freeway, Irving, TX 75039. The phone number is 972.373.0333. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. This location offers $3, $4, and $5 drink specials from 10 p.m. to close.

Humperdink's

Humperdink's is a restaurant that caters to the sports enthusiast. Offering a wide variety of foods as well as a huge drink menu, there is no way guests will not find something they like. This place also brews beer (I suggest the Texas Blonde). There are several locations in the Dallas area. One of the newest and most spacious is location at 2208 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75220. Their phone numbers to 214.358.4159. This particular location is open Sunday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Fox & Hound

The Fox & Hound is a group of restaurants located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and in various cities throughout the South, Southwest, and Midwestern United States. These restaurants or pubs offer everything from pool to darts. There are plenty of different TV screens, which allow guest to choose which game to watch. The menu has various items such as burgers and tons of finger food as well as a full bar. Our favorite location is at 10051 Whitehurst Drive, Suite 100, Dallas, TX 75243. The phone number is 214.340.4300. They are open daily until 2 a.m.

Wizard's Sports Café

Wizard's Sports Café offers pool on any one of the 18 tables and for the techie that likes to keep track of the score is across the league, there is free wireless Internet. Wizard's offers daily lunch specials and live music on certain nights. They are open 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week. They are located at 747 South Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080. Their phone number is 972.235.0371.

Boston's

Boston's specializing pizza but offers a great atmosphere for not only baseball, basketball as well. The menu does offer of the things as well as a wide variety of drinks and beers. Our favorite location is 1100 Market Place Blvd., Irving, TX 75063. The phone number is 972.869.2210. Hours operation are Sunday through Friday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Frankie's Sports Bar and Grill

Frankie's offers the opportunity to do many different things while you watch your favorite basketball team in the run for the NBA championship. This establishment provides a full bar, tons of beer on tap, and plenty of different TVs in which to enjoy your favorite team. It is located at 3227 McKinney Ave, Dallas, TX 75204. The phone number is 214.999.8932. Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. kitchen hours are Sunday through Wednesday until midnight, and Thursday through Saturday until 1 a.m.

Christie's Sports Bar & Deli

Christie's is an Uptown favorite. It is a family owned and operated the establishment with tons of seating and patios with TVs as well to enjoy your favorite game. Along with a variety of foods and drinks, Christie's offers four pool tables and a shuffleboard table. The bar is located at 2811 McKinney Avenue, Dallas, TX 75204. The phone number is 214.954.1511.

Knox Street Pub

Knox Street Pub is your typical sports bar, with many happy hour specials going on Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. They offer 14 TVs including four of them on the patio. Buffalo Joe's Grill & Bar

Buffalo Joe's Grill & Bar is a neighborhood sports bar, with some of the best TVs in the area. They have 10 50" plasma HD, 24 standards, and for HD big screens to watch the NBA rivalries. The menu has a variety of food items for a variety of tastes.     You may have overlooked a delightful little dive called 'Club Smitz' ... it is in ill-repair, but I've sure had some good NBA viewing there.
