1. Dallas Botanical Gardens - Pick a beautiful day - spring and early fall work best, or early on a summer day - and visit the Dallas Botanical Gardens. While you are wandering hand-in-hand through the scenic displays of the most beautiful floral arrangements you can imagine, you're setting the scene for a memorable and romantic proposal. Does your honey have a favorite flower? Bone up on the layout ahead of time and plan your proposal to coincide with arriving at her favorite blossom. If you're really feeling creating, get a staff member in on your plan ahead of time - they will probably be thrilled to help out by helping you to set the scene ahead of time.
2. Fort Worth Stockyards - If you're a resident with a penchant for all that is western or a visitor wanting to experience the best of unique Fort Worth style, choose the Stockyards as the site of your proposal. You have several options for venues within the Stockyards for your big moment, including in front of the rodeo arena, at the quaint train stop, near where the longhorns are housed, or even in front of the wedding chapel that is used fairly frequently for "authentic" western-style intimate weddings.
3. Sixth Floor Museum - Some might say that a proposal at the spot where JFK was assassinated would be creepy or weird - others might say that would be one of the most unique locations you could choose to make your proposal. I'm not recommending you stand in the middle of the street directly over the X and shouting your question to the world - and the cars driving at you - but the infamous Grassy Knoll is actually quite picturesque and would make for a very memorable proposal!
4. Southfork Ranch - Remember the gorgeous ranch setting for the television show Dallas? The original inspiration for the show's setting is a ranch just to the north east of Dallas, far enough out in the country to create a feeling of the vastness of Texas ranchland. Remember the arch that showed at every episode's intro? What more perfect location to cross into your new life together! Take a leisurely drive up and enjoy a few scenic hours while working up to your big moment. For added fun, Southfork hosts weddings and receptions in the barn located next to the main house - if you fall in love with your proposal spot, it may be the perfect place to return for your even bigger day to come!
5. Sundance Square - Located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, the square is surrounded by fun theatres, restaurants, bars, cafes and niche stores. There are a few scenic areas where you can stop and stay for a few moments - long enough, say, to ask the most important question of your life! If walking around or simply heading straightyou're your destination is not your style, horse-drawn carriages can be pre-arranged - or hailed on the spot on slower evenings - to take you around the area in high style. Celebrate afterwards by walking a block down to the Fort Worth Chop House to celebrate with a dinner out of this world.
