Best Spots to Propose in Erie

The city of Erie contains many great places for a person to propose. The fact that Erie has a beautiful lake gives the area some excellent outdoor venues which create a beautiful background for any romantic event. However, Lake Erie is not the only option available. If one were going to propose in Erie, here are five places to do so.

1. The Bicentennial Tower. The 187-foot tower overlooks the bay front and Lake Erie and is great (weather permitting) no matter what time of day it is. That special someone will be speechless when you pop the question from one of the most breathtaking spots in all of Erie. If one is going to propose at this spot, a special time to do so would be either during a holiday or a special event in Erie. The reason being that the tower is the best place to see fireworks over the lake. The tower also gives an amazing view of a clear sky at nighttime.

2. Watching a sunset from one of the many beaches at Presque Isle Park. Presque Isle is famous for being home to some of the most beautiful sunsets in the entire country. What could be more romantic then packing a small picnic on a warm evening and taking your lady down to the beach? With the size of the beaches at Presque Isle it is a perfect spot for a couple to take a romantic walk as the sun begins to set. When the time is right and the mood is set, pull that ring out and place it on her finger.

3. From the top of the Ferris wheel at Waldameer Park and Water World. This is great for the people who are still kids at heart. If this were the place I would choose to propose to my girl, I would either head to the wheel at sunset or at night. From the top of the ride one can see over Lake Erie and grab a great view of the sunset. Also, it is the perfect spot to view the entire park, and there is something about seeing an amusement park all lit up at night that seems to touch people in that special place. Just toss the ride operator a few bucks to arrange that you and your beloved stay at the top for a few extra minutes and then pop the question when the time is right.

4. At either an Erie Sea Wolves or Erie Otters sporting event. Proposing at a sporting event is a tradition that is a cliché as it gets. Doing so in Erie is slightly more intimate than in a larger city because the sports teams are only minor league organizations. This simply means there will be far less people at these games than at a Major League Baseball game, for example. A fun way to go about this scenario is to invite members from both families to join you and the future misses at the game. That way, when the message pops up on the brand new scoreboard (both the Sea Wolves and the Otters have new scoreboards this year), the moment will be shared by the people that are important in both of your lives. Besides, in front of all of those people, she really can't say no.

5. While aboard a Victorian Princess cruise. These cruises sail in the bay front portion of Lake Erie and are ideal for a romantic meal or for having a few drinks while on the deck. If one was planning to propose while sailing on one of these cruise lines the dinner cruise would most likely be the best time to do so. This way, the proposal can become an entire evening. Start with a romantic meal at a candlelit table while sailing on the lake. After that, as the music plays and you and your sweetheart are dancing, ask her to be yours forever.

These five places in Erie offer a variety of choices for a person to decide just where he wants to propose. In the end the location of where a person wishes to pop the question is dependent on the type of relationship he is in. These different spots offer several options for somebody to have that perfect moment.
