What Happens in Vegas Shouldn't Always Stay in Vegas

Having lived in Las Vegas for a short time, I spent a lot of time being a tourist, visiting local hotspots and not so hot spots. Having a lot of time to explore gives a person a chance to find out the best places that you don't always hear about. You can explore places like Tuscany, Paris, Medieval days, Rome, Venice, and even Egypt without ever setting foot outside of the country. Explore places that you thought you could never see, times you wish you could go back and revisit, and places you've only dreamed about all in the same day.

The first place that I thought of when I thought of proposals was the top of the Stratosphere tower. That seems to be a pretty common sense place, if you're looking for something unique. At over 1,000 feet in height, it gives you a great overview of the entire city from the observation deck. You can also have a romantic dinner and enjoy the sounds of a jazz trio to backdrop your proposal. While this is not a free venue for a proposal, it is definitely something that you and your fiancee' will remember forever if you choose to go that route.

Another place that came to mind when thinking of places to propose in Las Vegas was the Gondola's at the Venetian Hotel. Take your special person on an escape to the grand canals of Venice without ever leaving the country. Enjoy a gondola ride and show them just how much you love them by proposing under the bridge. This is a unique and memorable way to start a life with someone, it gives you both a taste of Venice without the cost of the plane tickets. Again, like the Stratosphere, this is not a free venue either, but it's definitely not going to cost as much as going to Venice, and it's worth the cost of the ride to make your proposal memorable.

Want to propose in Paris, France? Why not try proposing at the Eiffel Tower at the Paris, Las Vegas. You get all the romance and spectacle of Paris, France without all the cost of the trip to France, the foreign languages and hassles that come with it. This romantic backdrop can be just as memorable as the real thing when you pop the question. Do you really need to leave the country to make it memorable? Why not just let the Paris, Las Vegas be your choice of romantic settings for the perfect proposal.

Want to get off the Strip for your proposal? Why not try dinner at Hugo's Cellar in old Las Vegas. Hidden away beneath the Four Queens hotel, Hugo's brings you the romance of an English sitting room without leaving the country. Every woman is greeted with a long stem, red rose and treated like a queen, giving just the right air of romance to backdrop your perfect proposal. This seemingly unknown, yet romantic setting will give anyone a memorable evening that will last for the rest of their life. Picking Hugo's for your proposal will just make it that much more memorable.

My final pick for Las Vegas proposal sites is going to be a bit odd to most, but I thought it was romantic and fun. It was definitely something that I'll never forget. I would have to say the most unique way of proposing in Las Vegas would have to be where I was proposed to, and that was right in the middle of the Fremont Street Experience. It's a fun and busy venue that offers a variety of laser light shows every night starting at dark. Some are cute and fun, some are romantic, and some are just plain strange, but there is nothing more memorable than standing there enjoying a light show and having a proposal whispered in your ear while listening to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin songs playing with the show.

This may seem like an odd assortment of ideas, but they have to be the ones that come to mind whenever someone asks for my advice. There are so many more places that you can choose, it's all a matter of what you want to do and how much you can afford.

Just remember, it's not about how much money you spend, it's about how memorable you make your proposal.
